Top tip! My children are tidying their room so that Santa/FC doesn't think they have too much stuff already and not bother leaving them anything.

I know true genius when I see it. This is up there with 'put the crisps behind the cleaning products' Xmas Grin

LOVING the christmas name!

The tidying that is, not the gargling.

Nevergarglebrandybutter · 21/12/2011 12:17

DS2 who is 4, is taking it very seriously. All teddies have been hidden out of sight to ensure Santa leaves him something soft and cuddly.

Genius. Why didn't I think of that? I always have a pre-Christmas toybox clearout to 'make space for new toys' but never thought of using it as an incentive to get the rooms tidy.

CherrysOnTheNaughtyList · 21/12/2011 12:19

yy, mine have done this already, and are even making sure they keep them tidy.

Hah! Many moons ago when my dd (now 18) was but a little 'un, she cried her eyes out on Christmas Eve saying Santa wouldn't come as her room was a mess. And do you know what happened? DH capitulated and tidied her room. She can still wrap him around her little finger (although he doesn't clean her room any more) Xmas Grin

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 21/12/2011 20:17

Ahem
I have got mine believing that Santa doesnt come to an untidy house at all.

Mwah ha ha ha

Wow, most excellent.
I shall camp out at your feet to learn more of your top geniearse tips.

BliggOfTheDump · 21/12/2011 20:36

Ok. I'm also a parenting genius, right. Because DD2 who is 5 was all really worried about not getting presents cos she thinks she might be on the naughty list. And, right, I said tidy your bedroom and maybe you could (i'm not saying deffo or anything) you might get on the nice list.

excellent work ladies.

Ha tried that 2 wks ago, almost daily saying do your room or Santa won't bring presents.
Then threatened to do it myself but I would be chucking out anything I wanted.

I gave up yesterday afternoon and got on with it myself! 5 carrier bags of crap binned and one massive Ikea bag full of stuff donated to charity! Including about 25-30 books! And their books that are left still over fill the book shelf!

So, I'm afraid it didn't work for me.
