Another one for Nigella's Christmas morning muffins which I love as they are very easy to make. We usually do smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and croissants and have the muffins at some point over the festive period.

Quite like the sound of eggs benedict though.....Xmas Hmm

loopydoo · 21/12/2011 17:35

Croissants - we have them weekly normally served cold but on xmas day, I put them in the oven coz they taste so much better.

This year, because it's just us and kids, we might have xmas lunch for tea and so have a cooked brekkie and no lunch (except chocs of course!)

clairemb12 · 21/12/2011 17:42

A pot of fresh coffee and a couple of Italian soft Almond biscuits

wordfactory · 21/12/2011 17:46

Toast, croissants, cereal, fruit.
Guests must help themselves and be cleared away by 10am so I can begin cooking.

[very strict emoticon]

Every other day I grill bacon, sausages etc so no one has any cause for complaint.

ThompsonTwins · 21/12/2011 17:46

Scrambled eggs and bacon with toast

Christmasford · 21/12/2011 17:47

Eggs benedict

CDMforever · 21/12/2011 18:08

DCs get to choose any cereal they like - usually they're restricted to Ready Brek or Shreddies.

Adults might be doing the scrambled egg and smoked salmon thang, bit bored of that tho and get so stuffed on xmas day. Probably be a good girl and go without!

jumpyjan · 21/12/2011 18:27

Am intrigued by the toasted panatone - do you just slice and pop under the grill. Do you just eat it plain or is the idea to put stuff on it? It might tempt me away from nigellas muffins!

Just slice it and toast it under the grill. Beware - it toasts very fast. I eat it toasted just with butter, it doesn't need anything else.

Selks · 21/12/2011 18:29

P.S. Lidl do good pannetone....

FizzyChristmasFairyDust · 21/12/2011 18:33

smoked salmon, brown bread, scrambled eggs. Or egg and bacon sandwiches, not sure yet.

chipmunksex · 21/12/2011 18:41

Cocoa pops for the dc, I only buy them once a year.

I will have toast and marmite and lots of tea and coffee.

DH will have vast quantities of tea and maybe a weetabix.

I thought I was greedy until I read this thread, I don't know how people have room. Xmas Shock Xmas Grin

culturemulcher · 21/12/2011 18:46

Does no-one else have cooked-the-night-before ham and fresh rolls? I thought that was a bit of an English tradition must be just us weirdos then
Xmas Confused

RachelHRD · 21/12/2011 18:59

Warm croissants with apricot jam and pain au chocolat and Bucks Fizz for DH and me Xmas Grin. It's the first year since having the DC's that neither of us has to drive and/or I haven't been pregnant so we will be making the most of an alcoholic Xmas Day Xmas GrinWineWineWineWine

Hollyfoot · 21/12/2011 19:01

Bucks fizz, DH will then have a pork pie with horseradish (I know, I know) and I shall have toast.

I can feel the envy from here Xmas Grin

Hollyfoot · 21/12/2011 19:01

Oh and DD wont be up in time for breakfast so she will mostly be having bugger all...

MerylStrop · 21/12/2011 19:07

cinnamon rolls
booze if not going anywhere
oj if not
kids have mini cereal selections in their stockings (vom)
chocolate

jasminerice · 21/12/2011 19:08

Pain au chocolate freshly baked (from frozen) and gallons of tea. Need to leave room for the food mountain to be eaten later.

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 21/12/2011 19:19

I used to have homemade sausage rolls - now living with boyfriend who can't mix protein and carbs so am gonna attempt a veggie filling (made day before).
Am thinking of a kind of stuffing mix of everything - onions, mushrooms, nuts, dried fruit and breadcrumbs. Given that I often prefer stuffing on my roast plate to the meat I'm looking forward to this experiment - mmm licks lips!

ChocolatEtVin · 21/12/2011 19:24

Some homemade cinnamon whirl cake thing, made on christmas eve so ready to put into the oven on christmas morning probably at bloody 5:30.

iloveblue · 21/12/2011 21:59

Wow - lovely ideas on here
We're having fresh waffles (DH has bought himself a waffle maker) with blueberry/raspberry compote and creme fraiche.

blondieminx · 21/12/2011 22:08
