Loads still to wrap, he has so far wrapped 1! And showing no signs of helping despite my repeated hints about no time to wrap!

Yes Xmas Angry

spikemomma · 20/12/2011 22:20

I'm with you sister! You need to blatantly tell him, as the huffing and puffing and pretend Sellotape injuries just blow way over their clearly eyeless heads... M e n...

Danceswithdragons · 20/12/2011 22:22

If he's wrapped one present at least that's one more than my DH wrapped!

JingleJingled · 20/12/2011 22:23

My DH seems to still believe in bloody Father Chrisymas too........after all who else brings all the kids presents into the house.

JingleJingled · 20/12/2011 22:24

yeah which is why he is right now parcelling his mum and dad's stuff up, unwrapped, with a note on the outside of the box saying "do not open til christmas"

not sure whether to laugh or cry

nancy75 · 20/12/2011 22:29

I have seen what my presents that he has wrapped look like, I try to keep him away from everyone else's - my 6 year old dd is more help!

Littleover · 20/12/2011 22:29

Not only the wrapping fairy but the card writing fairy too. Don't forget the one who puts up the decs as well....

TheCrackFox · 20/12/2011 22:33

Yes he does.

but then I believe in the Christmas food buying and cooking fairy.

2kidsintow · 20/12/2011 22:35

Mine doesn't, because I make a point of asking him flat out "When are we wrapping the presents, then?"

LordOfTheFlies · 20/12/2011 23:32

Mine kept the DCs out of the dining room when I was wrapping. But did he help me wrap?
No.

But we have the Food Shop and Cooking Fairy in our house too.
But the Beer Buying Fairy has been a bit lazy. He does that himself!

The Take-The-Empty-Bottles-To-The-Bottle-Bank has been reeeaally busy though Xmas Hmm

clutteredup · 20/12/2011 23:39

Yep he believes in all things Christmas fairy - shopping, wrapping, cooking, card writing, but the lazy fairy doesn't get my present poor old DH has to do that Xmas Grin

piprobincomesbobbobbobbinalong · 20/12/2011 23:45

The wrapping fairy.
The mince pie fairy.
The christmas cake fairy.
The christmas card gnome.
The decorations elf.

I am fast turning into the Bah Humbug Goblin.

RomanChristingle · 21/12/2011 00:35

D'you want them to look like an animal with hooves has wrapped them. Men can't wrap or write neatly or decorate trees except my dad who does all the above very well

MmeBucket · 21/12/2011 01:05

No. I wasn't allowed to celebrate Christmas or Birthdays growing up, so I had never given or gotten a wrapped present until I was 25, therefore I am awful at wrapping. In fact, I am so bad. He makes me promise I won't wrap the presents myself.

startail · 21/12/2011 01:17

No he believes firmly in Mummy Christmas who buys all the presents, but he is an excellent wrapper. Much neater than me.

DisTwinkleyMincePies · 21/12/2011 01:22

We have a list making fairy.

A present buying fairy

A wrapping dwarf

A cooking/cleaning elf

and in a recent development - a dry cleaning fairy who knows the difference between trousers left out because he's too lazy to hang them up normally and trousers left out for cleaning.

Thank god for all the fairytale creatures in my house, I'd be run ragged otherwise... Xmas Grin

startail · 21/12/2011 01:22

He's actually written 3 cards this year, instead of one!
I decline to buy my own present or write a card to an exGF I've never met. No objection to the card I send a couple to old male friends. One of whom would very much have liked to be a BF, but DH and were all ready engaged, but living in separate cities.

startail · 21/12/2011 01:25

To be fair I have a mincemeat making pixie
And a internal, external and tree light arranging Gnome.
I just wish the gnome would magic all the boxes out of my kitchen back to the loft!

BiddyPop · 21/12/2011 16:52

There are a lot of fairies in our house - list making, purchasing, wrapping, writing, home made goodies making, ....

In fairness, we DO have a tree buying, outside lights organiser, and a washing up elf/gnome. Who is learning to plan ahead and talk things through, and also takes on some cooking and cleaning chores. (And does all the ironing and an awful lot of the rest of the laundry duties).

So while the poor fairy (single entity) is fairly frazzled by now, she is looking forward to cracking open the bottle of prosecco she has stashed, and the lovely amoretti biscuits too (that the Gnome won't touch cos they have almods in them!) late on Christmas eve!!!

BiddyPop · 21/12/2011 16:53

almonds even....

attheendoftheday · 21/12/2011 21:22

Grin at piprobin. I am also a bah humbug goblin.

PersonalClown · 21/12/2011 21:23

DP bribes me with copious amounts of tea and chocolate to wrap his too.
I love to do the wrapping but I act martyred when he asks!!Xmas Wink

ginmakesitallok · 21/12/2011 21:25

Until this evening the only thing he'd wrapped was his Mum's dog's pressie.... He helped do some of DDs' tonight, but it has put him in a foul mood and he is shit at it (doesn't even fold the long edge for God's sake!!!)
