Have you got nice Christmas table linen?

Or are you the kind like me that has a plastic/paper table cloth, mismatched napkins and a weird centerpiece?

I NEVER find a nice festive cloth...one that I can keep and put away...well I did once...but Mum stole it from me. I got a beautiful vintage hand-embroidered one...pure white linen...unmarked...with all little Christmas bells, holly, snowmen and pixies hand embroidered along it...Mum "Borrowed" it as she always hosts and of course she has used it every year since...but I want a nice one...we have a special meal with just DH, me and the DDs on Christmas Eve

All the cloths in the shops are tackorama! I saw one nice one but hadn't the spare 40 quid!

I bought one from ebay this year that is cream with gold beading around the edges and I bought some gold chargers too and my mum's bought us serving dishes for chrstmas. This is the first year of my adult life I have had matching cutlery and crockery so i'm trying to make the most of it! The last meal i served was put on the table in missmatching tubberware pots.. good jobs i'm a good cook!

As for center piece We'll just have candles and greenery draped artistically over the table with added ladybirds and aphids and maybe the odd garden spider

Gah I never even thought about matching dishes! Mine are all odd! Well you know...3 of this set and 2 of that...oh buggery.

I am resigned to another year of shite table decoration!

I had some yellow, some black and white and some plain white.
