Hi I'm new here, have only posted once or twice but got somever good advice. dp and i ahve 2 children together and have been together 4 years, we are very happy :) thing is i went into his jacket to look for a missing receipt, we need to return one of ds's presents and saw a receipt for a diamond and sapphire ring!!!! eekkkk! i am sure he is planning to propose, the mre i think the more hints he has been dropping about a hugge suprise, generally looking very pleased with himself lol! I am terrible at hiding my feelings and am gonna be on tenterhooks all holiday-do i admit i saw or hope i get away with it? i feel terrible but it was a accident.

Never ever reveal this information to ANYONE unless you can honestly say that they will never say anything.

Just be patient, he clearly has a plan, let him do his thing. And don't worry if it doesn't happen on Christmas Day itself. He might have decided a certain location on Boxing Day, or whatever, is better/less cheesy, etc.

And come back and tell us ...

If I were you, I would be dropping HEAVY hints so he didn't feel nervous. Like "Oh, isn't it lovely when children get to see their parents get married...it is so romantic...don't you think it is a really romantic time of year?..I feel realy COMMITTED to making this Christmas a good one, for better or for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health..."

This happened to me,I kept completely quiet and even though I am the worst at keeping my emotions to myself,can't lie or keep secrets

this time I DID

dh still to this day have no clue that I did an oscar award winning type performance and still regails his tale of how a few short days before christmas he proposed and I was soooooo excited I was bouncing on the chair.

In short say nothing as he will be so proud of himself that he executed his plan without you ever knowing :o

and return when he has done the deed to let us all know

Oh, but don't get your hopes up for a Christmas Day proposal, because if he's planning on doing it on Boxing Day or another time you don't want to be disappointed on Christmas Day if it doesn't happen then not saying this from experience or anything :o

Be very careful, I so hope it is for you, but
a) he might be planning to propose on a different day so as not to overshadow Christmas for the children
b) he might be really helping someone else at work, and looking after their receipt so that persons girlfriend doesn't find the receipt

But in all honesty it's more likely that it's for you, lucky lady!

This happened to me. Iwas having a search for my Christmas present, and found my engagement ring! I said nothing!
