Those of you who do Christmas eve hampers...Pjs, hot chocolate, Dvd etc
Does it have a gift tag or a letter from the Elves?? what does it say, if so?

Can I join you peanuts???

Also for adults - ours is going to have a note from santa, telling DH off royally for being out late and hindering the delivery of our gifts (along with some stuff to promote the idea of going to bed Xmas Wink )

I'm going to leave mine by the fire when we take DCs out for a walk (they are 12 & 9.6) so they can dive in when they get back.

I've bought lovely boxes so I plan to swipe them back to re-use.
Or DS will fill his with Halo figures Xmas Hmm

I always get the children new pj's for Christmas Eve, but this is the first year I have done a hamper. My boys are almost 14 and 6.

I think I am more excited about this than anything else.

They have pj's, slipper socks, dvd, bubblebath, mugs, hotchoc, marshmallows, popcorn and cuddly hotwater bottles.

I just need to persuade DS1 to have a bath and get into his new pj's before settling down to watch Mr Poppers Penguins with his little brother!

I still need to get a box or basket to put them all in. I dont want to use one of my many wicker baskets as they will recognise it.

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 16/12/2011 11:25

My dc are 3 and 1.
I have got a dvd, hot chocolate, popcorn for ds and mini cheddars for dd. Chocolate coins and chocolate santa's, a lovely santa book with letters and gifts in it, 2 little books, oh and 2 flumps!
I have pj's for them that they have only worn once so not buying more, my dc don't wear them anyway as they get to hot Xmas Grin

I made up a poem - it not that good but I am sure DD and DS won't mind:

I know you're excited as Santa's getting near
but tonight you must sleep, not lie awake listening out for reindeer

as a good nights sleep is what you need
these are the elf instruction which you must heed

snuggle up and watch a movie about a man of snow
light the candles, have a bath and in new jammies of to bed you go

but before you go remember there is one last thing
santa needs your help to keep the reindeer flying

to help them fly step outside and sprinkle magic reindeer food all around
then pop something yummy on santa's plate - a mince pie is best we've found

I am putting it in an envelope with Christmas confetti and glitter. And if you didn't guess the box contains new jammies, the snowman dvd, a christmassy china plate for santa, christmassy tealight candles and magic reindeer food.

I can't wait Xmas Smile

Thanks Peanuts. Our hamper is definitely from the elves - haven't quite worked out the logistics yet but will probably ask a neighbour to put it on the doorstep, ring and run off again!

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 16/12/2011 17:35

it's all a bit exciting Xmas Grin
