Come and give me your list of buffet food for the festive season to make sure I don't miss anything I might like Grin

So far I have:

Gammon joint but trying to decide whether to do in coke or apple juice
salad
coleslaw
potato salad
crisps
pork pie
cheese
beetroot
pickles
red cabbage

I am thinking of getting some of those party packs of food but welcome all suggestions. The kids want everything from the Iceland ads Xmas Grin

I think thats a pretty good list. In the past I have gone overboard with getting too many things, and while I fully believe in overcatering in every situation, I now limit the number if individual items and just provide vast amounts of them instead Xmas Grin.

Our festive buffet is, Gammon, roast pots, bread (part baked bread rolls served warm) salad and pot salad etc. Then 2 desserts chocolate torte and probably a trifle.

Will also have chips and dips as nibbles.

If you do want more ideas though theres always quiche, pizza, vol au vents (I love them - I don't care if they're not trendy), blinis, chicken drumsticks, corned beef pie.

Also worth having some frozen chicken dippers, chips type thing incase anyone turns up with a DC who just hates everything. Always happens to me!

Oh and I would stay away from the iceland type things, I've yet to try anything like that, that I liked! I always think do a few things really well - Super tasty gammon, goose fat roasties and everyone will be happy!

I had forgotten about quiche, thanks oreo :)

Should have said the buffet is only for us 4 and my mum and her husband and I am very happy for there to be leftovers so we can just pick at food for th following days. Xmas Grin

Don't think I can be bothered to go to Iceland Oreo but might get some bits from sainsbugs depending on what they have. It's probably the only time I get to have the prawn things as no one else likes them Grin

I love a sausage roll on a buffet, me. Sounds like you've got plenty though. Mind you, a big bowl of clementines always looks nice and Christmassy too.

I do a sort of salsa (not the tomato-ey dip type)

Finely chopped lettuce, pepper, onion, mint, tomato
Add a drizzle of french dressing. Nice.

Aldi do very good frozen buffet food.
You can't go wrong with a nice sausage roll IMO.
