Radio for a 6 year old?

Dd just told us that she wants to change her list to father christmas and add a radio to listen to music in her room.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what would be good for her age? Digital radio?
I've got an old iphone that I could give to her so thought that a radio with docking station could be a good idea but they're a bit pricey...

Any ideas / suggestions would be most welcome! Smile

Thanks Chipo, that second one is a great find!

Interesting that there are so few replies.... probably not a popular present?

A radio is an slightly unusual gift for a six year old Xmas Grin.

I have given my lot MP3 players or ELC tape or CD players purely because I want to be sure that they don't tune into anything along the lines of Tim Westwood .

I think that one looks good too.
I was considering something similar but it got drowned out by the Lego wish list. I am going to get one when the ideas run out or when he requests one. My DS loves having a clock in his room which is something I'd not really thought about before my mum gave him one. I hadn't really got round to non toy gifts in my head!

As someone who works in radio -I think it's a great present-you're never too young to start listening! My daughter loves listening to music on local stations and BBC. Depending on where you live there are some community oriented stations (mainly on FM , not DAB) that have programmes made by and for kids so she might be interested in getting involved some day...and Radio 4 extra also has some young people's programmes.

Hmmm, yes, it looks like it is unusual..... It had never occurred to me, but dd is starting to get into the songs she listens to on the radio when in the car and asked for one yesterday....

No idea who Tim Westwood is (I'm foreign)... I suppose it is a worry that they start listening to inappropriate stuff....
