FFS Help me! 2 teenage girls. Clueless. HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

CarolCervix · 12/12/2011 18:11

although the title could sum up everything about my life with teenagers generally right now I need present ideas.

DD1 15. DD2 13.

They are both rubbish and the only suggestions they have given me so far are a dachshund puppy (DD2) and a unicorn (DD1). Hmm Confused

so far I have got them pyjamas and a hat (and stocking stuff like mascara and pants and chocolate)

DD1 already has phone/ipod/laptop/camera.
DD2 already has phone/TV/ipod

I did think maybe a Flip video thingy for one or the other. maybe a camera for the other. They haven't asked for these but I can't think of anything else.

HELP ME!!!!

Budget is under £100 each.

also if you have any tips generally about rearing teenage girls who are impossible feel free to share them.

TIA.

A hamper each with some of their favourite things in? - i-tunes card, Starbucks card, smellies, bed socks, DVDs....

CarolCervix · 12/12/2011 19:19

that's what their stockings are. lots of bitty stuff.

just feels like they need a 'main' present. otherwise it's pretty much just pyjamas under the tree.

dd1 - flip or kindle.

dd2 - camera? although i don't know if she'll use it much and feels like buying for the sake of it. but can't think what else.

Sounds like maybe you could all do with some bonding time. How about making it £50 each for the present and getting them a spa day and treatment with you followed by cinema and pizza? If they get on with each other then together and if not then separately.

Then use the £50 each for presents. How about a canvas and some nice paints.

Or an animation kit.

Or nice jewellery to keep - locket, earrings, bracelet etc

Or a topshop voucher.

And adopt a dashund from the dog's trust.

CarolCervix · 12/12/2011 19:57

bonding Shock [shudder] please don't make me bond. no really - DD1 would love all that but DD2 wouldn't. she also donesn't like clothes, make up, jewellery or anything really.

animation kit it intersting. i shall google.

GHDs or curling wand No matter what their taste in fashion, they all love good straighteners.

DD has a flip and loves it.

What about a small pet like a hamster with the cage etc... You could even do a little adoption certificate naming it unicorn.

Concert tickets for an upcoming gig

CarolCervix · 12/12/2011 20:19

see, i suggested to DH she'd like a rabbit, or a guinea pig, he wasn't thrilled with the idea though. (we have cats and dogs already).

my dd [12] has 2 guinea pigs and a hamster and loves them to pieces, had a rabbit not a huge hit as they don't really like being picked up. she prefers to clean out a hamster this time of year, and i don't think you could put a baby rabbit out in the winter, from being in a warm pet shop, i think it would die

CarolCervix · 12/12/2011 21:53

right. DD2 has just ranted about not wanting a camera.

damn.
