Any ideas for my FIL?

Struggling to think what to buy for FIL. DP is leaning towards a voucher but I hate that idea, especially as ILs always go the extra mile for us.
Can anyone suggest anything?
He is very cool, very into technology but wouldn't really like the novelty technology stuff like you'd see on the geek style websites. He is a fantastic driver and seems to enjoy it, he LOVES his iPad and enjoys reading. He isn't that bothered about music and whilst he loves films, after he has seen them once he won't watch again.
His huge passion is photography and he is very good at it, with all the expensive editing software, etc.
We have a budget of about £40.
I kinda like the idea of making a hamper but not sure if I'd find enough to fill it up. He would be picking it up this weekend to take abroad for Xmas so I can't include any food items either. Xmas Confused
Any ideas would be very, very much appreciated!
TIA!

what about buying something related to where he's going, or an experience to do there.

I was going to suggest a driving experience of somesort - formula 1 or a high end car - but may be out of your price range.

That's a good idea actually. He is going to visit the rest of the family for a few days so it'd be good if we could get something they could do like restaurant vouchers or theatre tickets.

How about membership to National Trust? It comes with free binoculars - might be good for his photography hobby
We're getting membership for an uncle who loves to paint

Alternatively, what about a couple of audio books for the car?

Great ideas everyone! He has also just become a grandfather for the first time and second grandchild is due in Feb if anyone can think of anything to do with that too?

Hamper: M&S have an ipod stand for £4 (I saw it in their Christmas dept - you attach it to the back and let it rest with friction); £5 itunes voucher (books for iPad?) & £5 book voucher; memory stick/card to hold pictures on; old-fashioned sweets (should last through the holiday); cheap game (again, M&S have 1/2 price sale) for him to play with family on Christmas afternoon; if he has an iPod does he have an adaptor to use it in the car?; try a discount bookshop for little books on '25 places to visit' etc. as suggestions for new places to photograph?

DP is also very into technology and I don't have very much money so I've got a memory stick and loaded it with online articles I thought he would enjoy, a list of the best android apps (new phone), different 'How To' guides on topics he's interested in (turned them into PDFs, which looks better IMO), etc. For my DF I kidnapped his new ipod and filled it with things I thought he would enjoy - however he wouldn't have the first clue how to find things, whereas your FIL sounds like he would. Perhaps you could find an obscure show he would like and download it for him?

I also made DP a booklet filled with computer jokes/humour from this website. It has a funny version of The Night Before Christmas.

Can you get the children to make their own puzzles to keep him occupied on the journey back (if he's not driving) or on Christmas afternoon from this website? I made some of these, printed them off and tied them with ribbon to look more special.
