So, I posted the other night that we're struggling to think of something nice for MIL for around a fiver budget & I suggested the suggestions from that to dp. He said ....."hmmmmm, maybe"

So, my new idea is a small stocking of goodies....
I thought hand cream, a couple of quid dvd, choccies of some variety, a mousemat from quid shop with pic of kids in (maybe not very good quality but she has hardly any pics anywhere of the kids.) Any other ideas before I suggest this to dp & get knocked back again? She's the last person on my list & he's proving useless tbh at picking her something

Does she have a flower scent she likes - what about a soap? I once got my MIL a gardenia soap because she said she loved the smell and it's quite rare to find stuff in that scent (or at least it is in my budget).

Rose Vaseline? I love it for my lips.

How about a cheap digital photoframe with loads of pictures of the DCs loaded on - something like this

Vaseline a good idea, she's always pinching mine, will add one of those to my list thank-you. She's not really into photo's on display & very particular about photo's but the quid shop do mouse mats that you can put a piccy in so will get one of those too.

Reusable shopping bag that folds up small?
Little umbrella
Packet of seeds for the garden of flowers she likes
Nail file and/ or buffer
Mini sewing kit
Other little bits and bobs useful for handbag or spongebag if she's travelling
Cosy bed socks or slipper socks
Nice new hanky
Foot soak
Little bottle of wine

Oh and I've just been in ikea and picked up a small nonstick set of fork, spoon and little fish slice for about 50p. Handy sizes to use when cooking - not massive - or as little salad servers or as just extra useful set. And at a bargain price.

Am glad I checked back now, zipzap, bedsocks, shopping bag & gloves all added to my list. Think I've blown my budget though Grin but she's worth it
