Who do you buy gifts for at preschool?

Hi! My DD has just started preschool. This is the first time she is in a nursery type setting. I'm thinking of giving cards/a sharing box of chocolates. Do I need to buy gifts for the staff or just for her group supervisor, or just the big box of chocs ok? I really dont have a clue, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Alot of people go for the tin/box of chocs or biscuits as they can be shared with everyone in the staffroom. ( or raffled off amongst the staff)

Some people prefer to give individual gifts but I guess it depends on how many you have too buy for and how well you know them.
Some prefer to just give to their child's key worker.

There are 8 staff at DD1's nursery and they are all so lovely. Im making them a little bag of fudge each and have made them all a personalised Gingerbread man decoration.

Thanks piglychez, that was helpful. I really don't know anyone at all except her group co-ordinator. The other people I have spoken to is the receptionist, the headmistress and the cleaner. I suppose it would not be fair to just give gifts to them and ignore the other staff. I think I would go for the choc box and gift for just the co-ordinator. I would love to hear from other people and hear their views. Please ladies, some help here!

Hadn't thought of doing anything... umm... chocs to share if anything I think.

I work in a pre school and what we receive varies hugely. Some people buy a box of something for us to share. Some give an individual gift to everyone. Some do either of the above plus a "special" gift for the key worker. Some don't give any gifts. Some buy, some do home made...
So, go with what you feel. If your dd hasn't been there too long, maybe something to share would be nice, then when she leaves (next summer?) you might feel more like doing individual presents for those who have had a key role with her.

Thanks for your replies everyone. Posey my daughter has just started so she will not be leaving till 2013. I guess a shared gift would be a good idea. Once I get to know everyone, then maybe next year I could think about individual gifts.

I bought Lush Christmas Pud bath bombs, cost me about £2 each. DD1 is also going to decorate a bookmark for each of them.
