Hawkins Bazaar are great for stocking fillers. I also got some nice but cheap arts/crafts stocking fillers from The Range

Ds (10) and dd (6) have -

Compilation cd - Now 80!
Slipper socks - Chelsea, Hello Kitty
Annuals - Merlin, Horrid Henry
Fun snaps
Toothbrush
Lego minifigures and small box of Lego
Small Pretty Polly set
Plop Trumps
Bath confetti
Tinker bell perfume, ring
Chocolate
Goalie gloves
Matilda DVD

They will also have a satsuma and an apple at the bottom because we always had them.

(We also had a nut too but as ds has nut allergy, we forgo that part of the tradition Xmas Grin)

DS-3 has
bubble bath
shampoo
toothbrush
plate/cutlery set
novelty socks
lego mini figures
some play mobil people
chocolate money
satsuma/apple
bubbles
play doh
twig pencils
glitter
face paints
toy money
mini library
pirate snap (usbourne)
stickers

I thought Hawkins Bazaar was full of cheap looking rubbish when I went there on saturday and saw similar/same stuff in the £ shop.

MissBetsyTrotwood · 07/12/2011 20:25

hop do some lovely stuff. The 'shop assistant' service is vv useful for relatives too.

befuzzled · 07/12/2011 20:28

ive given up on the nice crafty wooden type things and just fill mine (7 and 4) with all the little plastic collectable stuff they love: Lego minifigs, playmobil figures, gormiti, bakugan, moshi monster figures, sweets, choc coins, satsuma.

Daftapath · 07/12/2011 21:08

I know Saltire. I had Now 1 as well!

Ds bit bemused when I told him that. I think he was trying to work out whether i am actually 80 yrs old or not Xmas Grin

I put fun things in and chocolate, but I always put in things like pants and socks/tights that she needs. Father Christmas tends to buy nicer tights etc than Mummy does - that was a tip I found on Mumsnet!

I've just laid out all the stocking fillers on the bed and am shocked at how much I've picked up "just a bit here" "just a bit there.

They've each got a kaliedoscope, a light up fan, sequin art kit, make your own butterfly, popping candy, Christmas chocolates (galaxy present, aero tree, quality street big purple one bar, cadbury wish bar, mini after eights, mini pack ferrero rocher) little gift like top trumps, make your own suncatchers. Body spray and nice bubble bath.

Eeek! And that is on top of the Christmas eve bits and pieces.

Am buying nothing else.

Not much good for this year but next year look out to see if sainsburys do their all toys half price week in November again. Complete bun fight but good for stocking filler stuff at half price. Things like cars, little dragons or animals, silly putty type stuff, small Lego and playmobil kits, small transformers or Ben 10 or other tv type toys, pack of cards, travel games, etc

Boys also get new pants, socks and vest in their stocking ready to wear on Xmas day and depending on space/ what they're wearing, a new Tshirt to wear too. Some of the party bag stuff can be good if they like particular things. I've learnt from bitter experience not to include anything that can be used to make lots of noise!! And things like a new fun toothbrush, fun toothpaste, a new comb if they need it, little notebook and set of cheap biros and/or felt tips
