Matalan?
Asda? (actually, any of the supermarkets)

Make one?

Pootles2010 · 06/12/2011 16:26

Could you make one, or is that not option?

How about thevtraditional White sheet with a hole cut in it and actinsel on a wire coahanger halo?

BuckBuckMcFate · 06/12/2011 20:03

I went to Tesco for one for DD today. When I got to the till it had been reduced to £4 from £8 and shepherd from £10 to £4. No sale stickers or anything.

I hand make as little as possible, ever, but I think with tinsel, a sheet and wings from the pound shop, even I might attempt an angel!

AChickenCalledKorma · 06/12/2011 20:39

White pillow case, if child is small enough. Unpick seams to make arm and head holes. Stitch on some tinsel.

PrincessWellington · 06/12/2011 20:47

Or older child's or small adults white shirt or polo shirt with tinsel attached?

SnowPlaceLikeHome · 06/12/2011 20:51

I got a lovely one from Amazon for 7.99 - search 'Angel Velour Nativity Costume' - very sweet fluffy white dress (not actually velour Grin) with silver wings and a fluffy white halo. If you sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime they will deliver it within 24 hours (just remember to cancel the free trial afterwards!)

Ask around. Anyone with older children is bound to have one you can borrow.

We have a very active market in swapping costumes. One Kings costume has been used for years by lots of different families!

At today's Christmas concert, there were loads of homemade angels and stars. All looked fab.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 06/12/2011 21:00

I made one from a sheet and a dress as the supermarkets ones were all Disney Princess-y. It looks rather fab, though I say so meself Grin, I was thinking of starting a hire-business.

What size do you need OP? Would the pillowcase thing work?

countdowntoxmas · 08/12/2011 12:16

Did the pillowcase and so proud of my sewing-skills! Look forward to getting some tinsel on to it very soon!
