Christmas Tree and Curious 8 month old

We always get a real tree. This year we're getting the tree on Dec 18th.

How on earth do I keep it safe from DS who will be 8 months on the 21st. He crawls at lightning speed and can pull up onto his feet.

Any ideas appreciated. We don't have a play pen, unfortunately or I would put the tree in it.

I've decided not to have a tree this year for the same reason! What about getting a potted tree and having it outside with some outside fairy lights?

I have changed my living room around so it is boxed in, on top of a table with the chair and the sofa :) DS is 11 months next week and has been walking for a month or so now. He STILL got to it though! By climbing, so not fool proof!

Small tree in middle of large table?

JollySergeantJackrum · 06/12/2011 16:51

A tree on a table might be a plan, if we had a table! I'll see if my mum has one. In the mean time I shall trawl gumtree for cheap play pens!

I used a travel cot to house the tree when DS was at that stage :)

Was an artificial tree tho so prob a lit lighter than real tree

My mum has a travel cot, but we're likely to be round at hers at some point so we'll need it there. Probably not a good thing to have in the corner of the room for a fortnight either as it's a huge one.
