I'd love to make some homemade 'stuff' for friends and family.

What can I make that doesn't take too long, doesn't require special equipment (eg sugar thermometer) and isn't too complicated?

I can't sew or knit. At all. So nothing like that.

Help please?

I'm planning on making saltdough stars for the tree - can I make anything for anyone else or can I package star decs somehow nicely for people? I'm sorry, I really am a novice!! Does anyone know if I can varnish with pva glue?

Recipes for biscuits / tablet etc very very very welcome especially if they are an idiots guiude....

Thank you!

Chocolate truffles are easy.
125g good quality plain or milk cooking chocolate
30ml lightly whipped cream
15ml liquid - can be rum, sherry, etc or I just use water for non-alcoholic
125-150 icing sugar

melt chocolate, stir in cream and liquid, add enough sugar to make soft paste. Cover, put in fridge for 40min or so. Take out, make small balls, prob about size of 2 pound piece. You can leave plain, roll in cocoa powder or chocolate strands, I sometimes pour a little white choc over and make mini marzipan holly to put on top to look like christmas pud. You might want to double the quantity as are yummy, I like plain ones best as with cream milk ones become quite milky. Hope you have fun whatever you make.

white chocolate and cranberry fudge - this is really easy, you just melt everything together in a heavy based saucepan.

got a really easy recipe for lemon curd but will need to post later as need to get to work.
