What do you have for Christmas Eve dinner? We are hosting my mum and dad this year, and I am wondering what to make.

We're going to have a mini buffet with the ham as the main bit.
Some cheeses, crisps for the children, pickles/chutney, home made sausage rolls, etc etc

Ham, jacket potatoes and some salad. Very easy and quite light before the big day!

Salmon en croute, jacket potatoes & coleslaw
followed by mini orange syllabub trifles - yum!

We have the main meal at lunchtime on Christmas eve, gammon roasted with Guinness gravy, mashed potato and broccoli, then Delia's poached pears in Marsala with creme fraiche.

At tea we have cheese/pates with biscuits, mince pies, fruit and picky bits.

Baked ham and buffet bits. We're entertaining 6 adults and 5 children so will e pretty informal.

Prob ham in cola with dauphinoise potoatoes, or rib of beef if we're feeling flush.
