What would you think if you got a Christmas card without your name on the envelope or on the card, and a computer-scanned signature inside?

So the envelope just has your house address on, no name at all.

No name in the card.

The signature in the card is scanned on a computer.

Just wondered what your reaction would be!

I'd think it was from a take away restaurant.

I would assume it to be from a company.

from a company, if not then lazy buggers!!!!!!

I would just put it up with the other cards and wonder what was going on in the sender's head!

its from a family member or friend isn't it, then cross out their name write on yours with a smiley face and send it back

Ordinarily I would agree with what has been said, but last year we had exactly this from an elderly neighbour who had fallen and broken her wrist but was determined to send cards.

I only know cos DS helps her with odd jobs and helped her do the stuff on the computer and deliver them.

Blimey. I'd check what other family members have received. If this is everyone then they are wierd, if it's just you then yes, they still hate you.

If it is just you either do Presents idea or kill them with kindness and get he biggest, sparkliest card you can and fill it with messages of sisterly love.

Skiing Gardener the only other family members are my parents, who've received a personalised card via Moonpig.com.

I would be very tempted by Presents' idea if their card had not already been recycled ... Our card to them is already in the post - not a big sparkly one alas, but one designed by one of our DDs, and signed individually by each of us!

I get something like this every year from a relative, it does however have our names printed on the front, printed though.. Inside its just a swoosh of a signature and nothing else.
I just feel embrassed by it and for them as its so careless and somewhat pointless. They probably think, wow we are so busy and popular this is the best way to do it. Instead it just comes across as lazy.

Do you have different surnames? Me and dh and dd do so people often get confused and leave off the names.

Erm - I think that rapprochement is failing somewhat spectacularly (although I suspect you know that already!)

Yellowflowers: well we've been together 14 years so I doubt they've suddenly become confused about our names. (When I'm confused, I just put the Christian names on the envelope rather than the house address only.) And what about the card itself ...?

Luckily we don't have to navigate the presents minefield. We only buy for each other's kids and so far there's been an unspoken agreement to keep them out of the crossfire (although even they were confused by the nameless envelope!).

I think they are sending it because they feel they have to, rather than because they want to. And this is their way of telling you that.

I'd think what a great idea!! I hate writing and sending Chtistmas cards. I may not bother at all this year...
