I don't really like them, but MIL does and do do my dad and stepmum. They had photo frames with her footprint on when she was a baby (my mum would have hated one!) and last year got selections of photos in a frame. They really do like that sort of thing! What's next? She's 2 now. Not sure I really want to make anything at home... Photos out as DH does all the photos throughout the year.

Handprint on a bauble to go on their Christmas tree?

You can do it at home but it's not particularly messy - paint on hand, hand on bauble, hand under tap!

Oh, I forgot, that's what I did last year! They were really good. Painted snowmen faces on each finger print. Thanks though.

Pil are getting a flowerpot decorated with their handprints - don't at local ceramic place but sure it could be done at home.

Am making some candle holders / tree decs with salt dough if I can be arsed

Ive done Calendars for them using the girls artwork as the pictures. Vistaprint worked out about £11 for 2 delivered.

How about snowglobes? Ive bought one for Great Granny that im going to put a photo of inside.

Previous years are calendars, good gifts presents, snow globes with pictures and footprint plates. This year DS1 (5) and DS2 (2) are making keyrings for presents.

We've done mugs. The children painted them, we got them glazed and they now have a beautifully (ha!) painted piece of ceramic art. Actually, once everything has been glazed and looks shiny even a 2yo's artwork looks okay.

I like the snow globe idea Pigley. Where did you buy yours from? I think our great granny would love that too!

We got some plain t-towels and put hand prints on them with fabric paint, and another year got plain fabric shopping bags (think they do them at hobbycraft), and did hand prints on those too, you just have to iron them and they can be washed.

The pound shop where I live (north east) had the snow globes in. I did wonder whether I should get some for the aunties but I think I will now after reading this thread.
Another idea is to decorate candles with the stickers that you can buy from craft shops and wrap with cellophane and ribbons, my mam does these and they look lovely.

I have bought a set of 4 coasters you can put your own photos in for DH's grandparents, will be putting a pic of DS in one and I expect the others will get filled with the other great grandson and pictures of their dog Xmas Grin
