Through two marriages to Christmas-hating men, I've sneaked bits of holly behind pictures, put cards on red ribbons and, er.... that's it. Now I've got inlaws and DM for Christmas and would like to do something that actually looks nice but is also feasible on a budget of £3.50.....

get ye out into nature,me and dd went out today with a pair of secateurs, carrier bag and came back with ivy, twigs, berries to decorate things with.

We also went into a 99p shop yesterday that was filled with basic stuff that you can add to with all the stuff we picked up today.

pine cones are also great if you can scavenge some,in bowls or attached to tinsel type stuff with some garden wire.

any more ideas that come to me will post again.

another thought if you don't have a tree,go out and find some largish twiggy branch and put it in a plant pot, again 99p shops have 20 lights for 99p,tinsel and snow in a can. This looks like a tada tree for pennies
