Do you decorate the back of the tree?

So the tree is up, in the corner of the room against the walls.

Do you decorate the bits you can't see?
I'm hopeless at tree prinking --
what are the secrets, especially with the lights?? Do you wrap around starting from the bottom. Or zigzag the front bit?

Help!

I do the back but put my favourite baubles at the front. Definitely wrap your lights all the way round but starting at the front bottom (Grin) will make them go further iyswim. Zig zagging will show up badly I think.

Millicano · 04/12/2011 00:14

just the odd baub round the back. And deffo lights all the way round but i start at the back bottom haha

thenightsky · 04/12/2011 00:15

yes... wrap lights around if you have a long string. Short string needs zig zag method.

franke · 04/12/2011 00:28

Nope.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 04/12/2011 00:33

Yes, and wrap the lights!

PeanutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 04/12/2011 11:41

Nope cant see the back so no point Xmas Grin

daveywarbeck · 04/12/2011 11:45

that reminds me, need to buy longer lights - ours are never enough to really festoon the gigantic tree DH insists on buying.

What do people put on a 5 foot real tree - 200 or 300? We've got 100 and it's not enough.

peeriebear · 04/12/2011 11:45

No, all round the front as it's backed into a corner. :)

Sparsely Xmas Smile

We are not butting the tree up against anything this year so have to decorate the entire farking thing.

Harrumph.

I would willing pay someone to decorate it-- that's how much I hate doing it!

yes

WhatWouldLeoDo · 04/12/2011 22:42

Have to decorate the back really as it's in the window, but I have a stash of old out of favour baubles that do. All my favourites are at the front.

We always wrap the lights (fine going on, PITA coming off) and have 400 on a six foot tree.

lucysmam · 04/12/2011 22:43

It's in the corner so just the front gets baubles on (if dd2, almost 2yo will leave them there!), lights all the way round. The tinsel that's on it looks like it goes all the way but doesn't

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 04/12/2011 22:43

Ours goes in the bay window so has lights and decorations visible from all aspects!

I love it Xmas Grin and will come to do yours if you live locally Felix!

Aww what a lovely offer, however I am overseas --it's not sunny beaches tho, So don't get excited, at the thought of popping over regardless :)

We have 'back of the tree baubles' Xmas Grin. Apart from those, I don't bother. But I do wrap lights around the whole tree.

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 05/12/2011 20:06

LOL - I live near an airport so I could easily pop over to get your tree looking perfect Xmas Grin
