Who do you tip and how much/with what?

Got a heavy hint from the Ocado man earlier on - he gave me a Christmas card and started banging on about how busy he is over Christmas, right up until the night of Christmas Eve...

We usually give the binmen a tenner each (two of them), but that's it. We never seem to have the same postman and no longer have a cleaner.

Do you partake in Christmas tipping?

Nope
I never have got tipping etiquette why some jobs and not others.... I get into lots of trouble with friends who have standard tips for hairdresser, chambermaid etc
I only tip if somebody has really gone the extra mile for me... Not just done their job. I've done a variety of jobs over the years some scuzzy and really poorly paid others not so much but all hard work and because they aren't traditionally tipped I got nothing. Tbh tho my heart melted when a few of my regular customers in the awful supermarket I used to work in brought me Christmas cards and a bar of chocolate Grin

£10 each to postman and milkman. That's it for us.

I never see the postman or bin men, don't have a milkman and always get a different Ocado delivery person.

My hairdresser gets some nice chocolates or a bottle of wine that's it.

There is no need to tip binmen. They are Council workers. I used to work in a binman's office. It was notorious that the sickness rates would plummet in the weeks leading up to Christmas so the guys could pick up their tips and various other sweeteners. Typically, in an urban area, a crew will do around 3000 households a day, or 15000 a week. You do the maths.
