Right so friend of a friend is down on her luck and I want to make xmas a little special, she has grown up children who still live at home (2 dds 20, 18, and a 17yo ds) I want to make a little hamper with nice things for her and her children.

So far I have included:
Nice warm 'bedsocks' for girls and herself
Bath bomb things
Handcream giftset

I'm also thinking of adding normal xmas hamper type things chutney, biscuits chocs etc.

but what else can go in this hamper??? Stuff for the 17 ds??

And as an aside this will be completely anonymous and I really hope it brightens her xmas rather than makes her feel bad!

What a really lovely idea Stacey, so kind! On the board game vein, I can wholeheartedly recommend Monopoly Deal, it's a card game version of Monopoly, and it only takes about 15-20 mins to play a full game. We've had loads of fun with it, and they're selling it in Asda for £5!

How nice of you. Foodwise I'd consider:

Box of nice tea
Biscuits
Bottle of nice pasta sauce for an instant supper
A saucisson or, better, chorizo ring - really versatile and delicious
A good condiment: French mustard or one of the flavoured Tobasco sauces (smoked is lovely) or truffle oil (pricey but amazing and really good with anything eggy or mushroomy)
Handful of chocolate bars
Posh crisps / olives / cheesy biscuits / nuts / jar of pate or other 'aperitif'-type snacks
Elderflower cordial
Bottle of cava (with miniature of raspberry or blackcurrant liqueur for mixing)
Popcorn (unpopped)
Soup

Would the kids use an iTunes card? I'd be surprised if not...
Smelly candles (supermarkets do reasonably priced good ones these days).
A comedy dvd like John Bishop or Michael MacIntyre would work for all...
Grazia seems to be the mag of choice just now according to my DD.
