I have 9 teachers presents to buy for so would like to make something, but not edible as im not sure my baking would go down too well.

How about a homemade calendar or a Christmas tree decoration?

Salt dough decorations are nice and easy to do.

I am getting cheap IKEA fleece blankets. I am also getting IKEA christmas felt embellishments (which you could make much cheaper I'm sure with ebay fleece.) The blankets will be appliqued. I might make a fleece cushion for my DD's teacher.

If you can get cinnamon in bulk cheaply (I got a kilo for £4 wholesale) then cinnamon christmas tree decorations are amazing. Think salt dough ornaments but really cinnamon-y smelling, I've got some DH's American godmother made that we've had maybe 15 yrs, and you sandpaper the back a wee bit each year & they smell as good as new. (I used the first recipe from that link but upped the amount of white glue a bit to say 2 tblsp to make them a bit more robust).

There's a picture here. If you paint the front edge over with white glue then let it dry you can decorate them with a silver paint pen for a bit of extra sparkle.

Gosh you're nice. I've never had a homemade present from a pupil! Secondary though, so I tend to get wine Grin A Christmas tree decoration would be lovely. Or even just a card (home made if you're that way inclined) - I always keep cards and so do most teachers I know.

We're going to decorate plantpots and put a growing herb inside that they can chop up for christmas lunch.

I'm going to buy a candle making kit for my DDs to make presents for people this year.

DS (4.5) and I are making salt dough Christmas tree decorations for his teachers today. The plan is to put them in a gift bag with a pretty jar of homemade fudge and a mini bottle of wine Smile

We are making pipecleaner fairy dolls (angel for headmaster), but with a silver loop on top of hair to make it christmas decoration, will then loop it over jam jars of homemade chocolate truffles, minimal cooking, just have to melt chocolate then mix in sugar and cream.
