It would be one in a pot so still with it's roots intact and it's only going o be a smallish one (2-3feet) for the kitchen. It's the coldest room in the house but not freezing unless there is snow on the ground.

Would it look like a bare twig by Xmas eve?

long time since we had a potted one, but i seem to remember being told to bring it in/put it after christmas, in a room for a few days like a garage/shed thats half way between outside temp and inside one as this reduces stress and hence leaf drop.

i wouldn't get one yet as you risk it dropping its needles unless you look after it properly - which if you are like me you won't

i get a 9ft one for the living room every year, first weekend of dec. We have the heating on all day most days and a coal fire every night. I neither pot or water and mine are always fine til after new year!!!
