Can I please ask what you are buying a 2 and half year old DS for xmas (so I can copy!)?

He has an older brother (4.2) and sister (6) so has inherited a lot of toys. Now I am stuck for ideas Confused

oh, and I've bought 300 duplo bricks off some one at work for a tenner! Grin

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 28/11/2011 19:39

We have bought our D.S who was 2 in August This

And a couple of the Chuggington trains he collects, plus a Christmas addition of Fireman Sam, some Fireman Sam bowls + Cups plus a few bits of Thomas tatt stuff

BUT considering how bratty he is being at the moment he may well end up with <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=lump+of+coal&hl=en&biw=1280&bih=655&gbv=2&tbm=isch&tbnid=-QPtFvL1jgBp4M:&imgrefurl=bronzejournal.com/blog/2011/05/the-nuclear-question-can-we-live-without-it/&docid=nDS4my56Pp01SM&imgurl=bronzejournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/lump_of_coal.jpg&w=342&h=269&ei=CuPTTtGIEIbAhAe23PHVDQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=489&vpy=180&dur=1203&hovh=199&hovw=253&tx=120&ty=135&sig=107350453075826205612&page=1&tbnh=128&tbnw=176&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">THIS

OR I may just have sold him to someone else by Christmas, seriously I can't wait until I can properly threaten him with F.C, he's been a little horror this week!

Thanks everyone for your replies. He has already got so much of what you are getting your DS's but it did give me some ideas.

His DB is having a leappad and his DSis is having games for her ds so they'll most prob spend half the day playing them. We didn't want the youngest to feel left out or annoy them by trying to play their games so we have got him a leapfrog laptop thingymejig. Hopefully this will keep him occupied and make him feel big like his DB and DSis! I am now going to look for a dressing up outfit for him and then I'm done.

The 2 boys are also having a wooden garage to share as well as lots of smaller stuff that I have been collecting over the last few months but at least now I've got his main present sorted.

a baby doll (yes really)
maxi hama beads much chunkier than the usual ones
Fold and go castle

I only have 20 months between my boys so I am also having a "share sack" with a little note from Father Christmas to say "You may only open these presents if you agree to share them"
In teh share sack are some bits for their wooden train set, some Disney Cars bits, puzzle & a game, dvds hmmmmm probably a ton of other "bits" that I have forgotten about lol & will suddenly remember on Christmas Eve (at 3am)

flossy I bought 2 "brief-cases" of dress up last year, I think it was from Studio - they were about £7 each and have all kinds of stuff in like police, zebra etc ... He loves playing with them

Also I have the Mothercare Rocket and its rubbish! Its constantly falling apart, its nowhere near as good as the cottage or the farm - we got them all half price last Christmas and they're still in good shape but its hard trying to keep all of the rocket together!

Bethshine82 · 29/11/2011 20:36

Ted is nearly two and a half and is getting some imaginext stuff. It is meant to be three plus but the pieces arent actually that small and we have the rocket and pirate ship already, which he loves. They are really sturdy toys and great for imaginative play.
He has never liked happyland or little people, much to my disappointment as I think they're really cute. I have concluded that they are not technical looking enough for him.
He is also getting a step 2 kitchen off my parents, the jungle junction playset, a dr's set as he is obsessed with making people better, and some books and jigsaws.

mrspear · 29/11/2011 20:43

ERM not as much as some people!

Anyhow: Santa Claus is getting him 2 x jigsaws, 5 x books (came in a set of 10 random ones for £10 and he got 5 for his birthday), Bob the Builder DVD, chalks, eraser, chocolate coins and satsuma. Think that is it - will have check cupboards!

Mummy and daddy: art easel (my mum is getting him paints, pots etc)

fifitrixibell · 29/11/2011 22:12

some thomas take and play track and a talking James engine - not at all original but he is obsessed!

flossyfloo · 30/11/2011 10:32

chunkymonkey those dressing up cases sound really good, have you got any more details on them by any chance?

OP posts:
wolfhound · 30/11/2011 10:40

A toy Henry Hoover. DS2 (2.5) is obsessed with hoovers. I realise that may not be a general thing :)

PontyMython · 30/11/2011 11:04

Happyland bus
Whallop a worm game
Who knows whose nose game

All from ELC.

As a joint present he and 4yo DD are getting a dressing up box from Santa and Gears Gears Gears sets from us (made by Learning Resources). From my parents - but chosen by us as usual as they can't be arsed to choose - they are getting an Easel with paint etc.

I'd also got Happyland space stuff for him, and we got a free copy of Cars on DVD, but we are keeping these back for his 3rd birthday.

MetalSian · 30/11/2011 11:11

.... My DP has bought my 2.5 year old DS a mini moto quad bike.
I'm not even joking.
50cc petrol quad bike. I can't lie though that it is really cool. Maybe just a bit early. Luckily with the weight limit being 75kg I can ride it with him until he is big enough.
So he is also getting helmet, gloves and all safety stuff for that.

Playdough trolley bag with cutters and stuff.
Car armbands.

From the GP's IL, a massive trike with trailer, an electric motorbike, a flip car, pens and other craft things, and probably a million other things.
They spoil him ridiculously 0.o, he will get more presents there on boxing day than everyone else on christmas day I expect.

And I have no more room already before this tirade!
