Simple, effective, faff=free childrens Christmas crafts?

I want to have a a bit of a crafty weekend next weekend and get the kids (aged 7 and 3) making some decorations, cards etc. Any ideas for fairly easy, fun stuff to make?

Paper chains aren't too faffy. ELC used to sell the bits and they were self adhesive. Boys had them all around their bedrooms.

Unfortunately Christmas crafts for kids tends to involve glue and glitter.

We usually stick to paperchains as they can all manage them with a minimum of fuss and mess
