I am part of Secret Santa at work and we have a £10 budget. The person that I have drawn means a great deal to me and I'd like to find her the 'perfect' gift ...but what?

What would be your perfect gift off Secret Santa?

Chocolate and wine Grin

SirBoobAlot · 26/11/2011 23:50

Pair of fluffy slippers - primark, peacocks, next cheapy ones - with a bar of chocolate in one, and mini bottle of wine in the other.

Plonker · 26/11/2011 23:52

Thanks deep Smile

That was my first thought too, but strangely she doesn't drink!

I don't want to get chocolates because her children will eat them and I want her to have the gift, iykwim.

I thought comfy slippers too, but then wondered if it's just me that would like them. Cheers SirBoob - glad it's not just me.

Slippers now definitely on the list Smile

Get some of those slippers that are like boots- very snuggly now it is cold. I would want an Amazon voucher but is that a bit of a cop out?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/11/2011 00:06

Can you tell us a bit more about her?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/11/2011 00:06

Please?

Smile
Plonker · 27/11/2011 00:20

She's in her 40's.

3 children, one grown up and two younger.

She works in a very demanding environment (don't want to give too much away)

She doesn't drink.

She's wonderful and I love her to pieces Grin

Luxury hand cream?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/11/2011 00:22

Lovely photo frame for pictures of the DC?

iphonedrone · 27/11/2011 00:25

Book voucher

Starbucks/Nero gift card

itunes voucher if she has istuff

ToothlesstheDragon · 27/11/2011 09:04

little pamper set? a lush bath bomb, little chocolates, candle and a magazine. you should be able to get all that for £10

Laquitar · 27/11/2011 09:13

I would like a nice notebook.

Or a scarf - not wintery one, a french style scarf.

A retro handbag mirror (for the tube Grin

Lux olive oil.

Daftapath · 27/11/2011 10:23

Does she use a tube/bus pass? You can get very pretty ones in Paperchase.

I second book suggestion (if you know her taste), otherwise a voucher.

A planted festive pot of flowers for the garden (or house if she has space), Los of stalls have lovely ones around here or M and S or garden centre would have plenty of choice.

I would also print a little note to go in a card (so it remains anonymous) saying just how much she is appreciated by everyone. I be that would mean more than any gift.

thestringcheesemassacre · 27/11/2011 10:34

I had to do a £10 secret santa for a woman yesterday (my NCT group) and I chose some really cute gloves from monsoon. The fingerless ones. She loved them. And I got in return a very nice rose scented candle.

Plonker · 28/11/2011 00:20

Thanks all Smile

Lots to consider there

tx12noone · 28/11/2011 00:36

I always like getting books or DVDs.

I also like stringcheese's fingerless glove suggestion. Not one I would have thought of myself, and very practical!

I personally hate the whole bath oil/ lotion/scented candle axis.

ENormaSnob · 28/11/2011 09:04

I would like a lush set and a dime bar.

peanutsmakinalistncheckintwice · 28/11/2011 09:56

i would love a yankee candle or some lovely nail varnish (barry M on 3 for2 at superdrug) or lush Grin

sweetheart · 28/11/2011 15:35

I would like a nice scarf wrapped in tissue paper in a nice gift box. Tie rack have some lovely ones but some of my best loved ones are from primark and other cheap shops.

AnnieWinehouse · 28/11/2011 16:23

A nice oyster card holder from Cath Kidson or some such.
Or, a really nice lipgloss (Clarins or similar)

That's what I would likeSmile

SinicalSal · 28/11/2011 16:28

a yankee candle, that's what I would like. Clean cotton or a Christmassy one.

PinotHolidaysAreComing · 28/11/2011 16:35

oOo yeah posh lipgloss or nail polish. Might be hard on a tenner though

GwendolineMaryLacey · 28/11/2011 16:42

Big box of nice chocolates, not kids' stuff. It is perfectly possible to hide these things from small children

FriskyMare · 28/11/2011 16:43

I would like the Great British bake off cook book (half price in Waterstones!)
