If you have New cards left over from last year do you send them or buy a new lot?

As the title says. Just wondered what other people do as every year I buy a new box of cards and there are some that don't get used (spare)...left over.
So do you bin them and buy all fresh (new) every year or do you use some of what you had left and buy a few more?

No use up those left over from last year first and then buy new.

pugsandseals · 26/11/2011 11:52

I'm obviously tight as we buy most of ours in the January sales anyway! As I see it, people are less likely to get 2 the same then Wink

MindtheGappp · 26/11/2011 11:54

Use them, obviously.

DebiTheScot · 26/11/2011 11:55

I keep them to use the next year and then find them the day after I've written all the cards the next year Grin

I also have 2 card that are written and addressed and in a drawer where they've been for 2 years now after I wrote 2 cards for the same people by mistake.

Flisspaps · 26/11/2011 11:55

Use them up!

AvadaKedavra · 26/11/2011 11:57

Pugsandseals you can't be as tight as me, I bought Asda 10p smart price cards this year for non essential people who you still have to send a card to Blush

OP - no I normally use up leftovers then buy more. Nobody remembers what card they got off everyone anyway so it doesn't matter if they get same kind :)

AvadaKedavra · 26/11/2011 11:59

10p for 10 cards that is, not even 10p each!

savoycabbage · 26/11/2011 12:00

It has never crossed my mind to chuck out unused Christmas cards! That's madness. I have a stock of greetings cards for a card related emergency too.

Canella · 26/11/2011 12:07

I found a box of mixed unused christmas cards in our christmas box so I've used them. Slightly shamed tho cause some of them have a date in small letters on the back - 2007!Blush

I've had the same box of cards for at least 7 years now. I bought a big jumbo box in the sale once and I only send about 10 cards, so it's still going strong. If I had my way I wouldn't send any cards at all but some people get very offended at not getting one :-S

shineon you are sooo right but I'm a sucker for anything to do with Christmas so......

Interestingly for the first time ever ever ever I'm going to use up all the leftover cards from last year. Not sure why, I usually get a real thrill (yes, thrill!) from buying new cards.

Then next year I will go crazy and buy some new ones. I know how to live Grin

MrsKwazii · 26/11/2011 18:27

I use up leftovers and buy next year's cards in the sales too

scaevola · 26/11/2011 18:39

Use them.

Else they'll be in the attic forever. If you are going to (be insane and) bin a perfectly useable item, then surely you would have done so in the post-Christmas chuck out, not after a year of giving them house space?
