I'm buying my 4 yr old niece a lovely flower print tea set by kath kitson, i don't really go for that look but the flower print is bold and different. She will love it, and her mum will hopefully too!

Sylvanian Family - caravan and car.

More dolls house furniture

MoChan · 25/11/2011 23:30

Playmobil carry along house, books, double pushchair for dollies, Toy Story Jessie Doll, Moshi stuff.

PontyMython · 25/11/2011 23:37

Dd hasn't asked for anything except a snow white dress, which we got to include in her main present (as a joint gift she and her little brother are getting a dressing up box)

Also getting some games and rubber stamps, and as another joint gift they are getting some Gears! Gears! Gears! sets (made by Learning Resources)

Most of her stocking consists of little figurines off eBay from various movies she likes, toy story, monsters inc etc.

My parents usually tell us to get something ourselves and give them the bill and this year we are thinking of an easel/blackboard thing.

alittleteapot · 26/11/2011 08:58

I'm thinking I might get her her own little art box full of lovely felt tips and crayons etc. She's really into drawing now and might be nice to have her own special box of tricks.

Sylvanians & house, playmobil fairy stuff as I couldn't persuade her that she'd like the fire/police/pirate things.
Lots of hobbycraft beady/making things like Hama beads.
Pillow pet.

Can't remember/find what else, but I know it's all sorted!

PontyMython · 26/11/2011 09:13

I think an art box is a great idea. I might do one for DD's birthday in summer as I want time to shop around for good prices Wink their dressing up box has taken about 5 months to put together. I heart eBay.

bytheMoonlight · 26/11/2011 09:36

What things have you got in their dressing up box Ponty?

PontyMython · 26/11/2011 10:08

The question should possibly be what I haven't got Blush

I was determined not to just buy branded character outfits as they are IMO poor value and I don't think they stimulate as much imagination IYSWIM? We don't have endless money so I wanted the most play potential from what I got. Exception being the snow white dress as she's wanted one since starting nursery last year.

I mostly got a load of accessories that can be mixed up - lots of costume jewellery, bags, hats, hair stuff etc in fashion shop sales.
Also got random costumey bits like a shield, builder hat, tutu, hi viz jacket, fairy wand etc from toy shop sales and online.

SO excited to see their faces. Not even got the box for it yet and I don't know where we will be putting it Blush

bytheMoonlight · 26/11/2011 10:42

Sounds amazing Ponty! I know my dd1 would love it!

I agree about the branded dress up outfits an have also steered clear (but would cave if dd wanted one as much as yours!)

I keep meaning to put together a box like that, our local charity shop is fab for bits n pieces but I think they will think I'm crazy buying strange scarves and hats. I really need to start doing it though.

Hmmmm also need to think about a box ....

SantaDesperatelySeeksSedatives · 26/11/2011 11:05

Sylvanian Family Caravan and car along with the elephant family
Barbie puppy water park
Books
Drawing stuff

Inlaws are getting her an InnoTab console thingy.

We are making sure we aren't getting her anything big and bulky as A) her room is tiny and B) we have to cart it across the country along with all the crap needed for 5 month old DS in a tiny Ford Fiesta.

alittleteapot · 26/11/2011 16:56

Ponty, that does sound amazing. Hmmm -

DD also wants a surprise and thinks we've got her a bike with pedals.
But we've got her this and some story CDs. Hope she's not disappointed.

She's asked Father Christmas for a Barbie and PIL for a Cinderella dress.

strandednomore · 26/11/2011 18:17

It's her birthday 2 weeks before Christmas and she is getting a Tangled dress from us, a Sleeping Beauty puzzle and a Tangled doll from her Uncle (can you see a theme here?), and I know my parents have got her some pink lego.

I think for Christmas I will try and get her an age-appropriate Wii game, probably a Disney princess one (sigh) because her older sister loves her Wii but so far she doesn't want to join in. I really want her to learn to play with it so that I don't have to play endlessly with her sister she and her sister can play together! Apart from that, a few bits and bobs for her stocking including a toy microphone that she can sing into and, inevitably, lots of chocolate!

I love the idea of a box to put her art stuff in though. She loves arts and crafts too and it is all getting a bit out of hand. I might get her some sort of art box as well.

girlsyearapart · 26/11/2011 18:38

A bike- the daisy chain one from Halfords.

Tangled DVD

Probably a ds game

Other stocking presents- hello kitty sparkly lip balm, hello kitty alarm clock (Dhs bright idea to keep her in bed till it goes off..)

Apart from the bike the only thing she had asked for was some rapunzel (tangled) socks.
Have given that dossier to mil though she's not best pleased that it's not a huge present I've given her to buy..

Mainly if it has hello kitty or tangled on we re onto a winner

EsmeWeatherwax · 26/11/2011 18:56

She's getting a Leapster explorer plus a game, Barbie puppy water park thing, a girls world, some dvd's and some arty/creative stuff. I'll probably get her some books too, trying to keep it down this year, small items only, we have no more room!Oh yeah, and a scooter. My mum's getting her a storio.

simpson · 26/11/2011 21:56

V Tech smile with game
a barbie
a hugglebuddy
my parents are getting her a bike

She is 4 in Jan and wants a gilrs world and pollypocket dolls.

simpson · 26/11/2011 21:56

Northernlurker · 03/12/2011 23:38

Bump for this - I am flirting with a Corolle doll but otherwise stuck.

PontyMython · 04/12/2011 07:45

I have posted the list of contents of the dressing up box on a new thread, if anyone wants to see. :)

The last present arrived yesterday - mum and dad always just get us to choose (and order and pay for) their present so they can pay us back, we chose an easel from ELC, I just need to get accessories and figure out how the heck to wrap it.
