DSs are 9 and 13. We have their main present but need a few things to put under the tree.

DD has make up, perfume, books, a curling wand. So useful things but nice gifts at the same time

Any ideas of useful presents for boys but things they would like also.

Ds1 has a small smelly set and aftershave. Ds2 has Guiness book of records. My only other idea is new headphones.

Can anybody inspire me.

Airfix Kits ?

Books for the boys ? Audio if they don't like reading ?

Little deodorants ? Gift boxes of shower gel/deo/shampoo etc ? Can get a little wicker box and make your own 'gift box' ? Add a couple of sweets ?

Magazine subscription ?

Acitivity voucher ?

Erm.......

I was going to say headphones.

For the older one - lynx, boxer shorts etc?

For both, if they do outdoorsy stuff at all - thermos flask, penknife, torch (or head torch).

CDs? iTunes gift card?

Magazine sub is a good idea if there is anything they are interested in - I got DS a Lonely Planet sub using tesco vouchers for his last birthday.

Do they like gadgets like torches/compass that sort of thing (are they Scouts Grin)? Sporty things - balls/darts/team mug/calendar/whatever.

What are their hobbies?

Daftapath · 25/11/2011 16:05

Do they like sport/football? I have just got some cheap footie things in Sports Direct for my 10yr old ds - goalkeeper gloves, sweat bands, rucksack.

I have also got him a Match annual, slipper socks, cheap DVD, compilation cd, Lego figure.

Maglite torch. The dinky little ones are particularly fun.
Swiss army knife, possibly? Depending on the level of sensibleness of the individual child.

ColourMeWithChaos · 25/11/2011 16:12

With 6 DSs I know how you feel! My eldest 4 (17, 14 and 2x10) are getting some of the following:

New headphones
Lynx stuff
New bag for school (one Gola messenger bag, one Nike rucksack)
Xbox live subscription
Xbox games
Sports stuff (rugby stuff, those undershirty things, socks, training kit)
Books (older ones mainly funny/autobiographies, younger ones fiction)
Extra Xbox controllers
Dvds
Chocolate

Arts and crafts 'stuff' ? You could get paints and canvases or watercolour pencils ? Those 'etch' things ?

Box Set DVDs.

Vouchers for clothes, so they get to choose their own ? Vouchers for games/music stores ?

Hat, scarf and gloves ? Grin

sponkle · 25/11/2011 16:19

Fun pants. My son likes the ones with pop art type pictures on from Topman.

A nice hoody? or tshirt?

Funky hat, scarf or ski gloves? ski socks went down well with my son lat year, v warm and comfy and absolutely no skiing involved either!

Yy to headphones, always need new headphones.

Air Jamz guitar??? little game for xbox, dvd of angry boys or something like that?

NB my son a lot older so check age relevance.

Ooh Thanks for the replies. I've just added a DofE swiss army knife to ds1 list. It has a rounded tip on the blade to make it safer. He is in army cadets so I'm sure it will come in handy. Also added some skull candys to both lists and football gloves, shin pads etc to Ds2 list.

Hat, scarf and gloves is a good idea, ill look in primark. Magazines and school supplies are going in stockings.

Any more ideas? Im avoiding vouchers.

Trangia stove (to save you buying one when he does D Of E next year).

Voucher for climbing wall or ski dome.

Fishing tackle.

Clay.

Silk screen printing kit.

Hollister T shirt.

Dart board.

Baking stuff.

serin · 25/11/2011 19:16

Oh! x posts there!

Scrap the vouchers then!!

lljkk · 25/11/2011 19:20
(all the rage amongst DD's y5 boy peers).

Stuff I'm getting or considering for DS12:
Cooler pants, Joe Bender cyclist (see Amazon for other Joe Bender sports figures), favourite shampoo or shower gel, Sunjar, nice drawing pens, mechanical pencils or drawing pads, DSi games, Star Wars canvas prints.

Daftapath · 25/11/2011 19:58

Ooh, just thought, along the headphone lines, how about bean ats with inbuilt headphones?

Debenhams have them this year but also got them from play.com and iwantoneofthose.
