Title says it all really. I have to buy a book lover a gift. It can't be a book. It has to be £10 or slightly, but not much, less. They are female. Help!! Shock

A book light?

piprabbit · 24/11/2011 21:45

Buy her one of these and some replacement batteries. Excellent for reading in the dark when DH is complaining I am keeping him awake.

Snap Grin.

I know I've seen some cute book-themed tote bags around. Does your town/city-centre library have a gift shop?

rhondajean · 24/11/2011 21:48

What abour a lovely bookmark?

LittleCatonkeyonadustyroad · 24/11/2011 21:48

What about a really nice bookmark? Notonthehighstreet.com have some lovely ones here

wildstrawberryplace · 24/11/2011 21:49

No not the really tiny booklight, they aren't very good - the pool of light is too small and they break really easily - you want a Mighty Bright

rhondajean · 24/11/2011 21:49

Ooh Ive also seen mugs with Penguin Classics covers on them.

MogandMe · 24/11/2011 21:49

I found a great thing in waterstones the other day which was an electronic dicitionary which fit in your book for all those times when you don't know what the word means.

Carrotsandcelery · 24/11/2011 21:51

I have never been in our city centre library - thanks for that idea. I know our local ones don't have gifts though.

The book light is a good idea but this gift may or may not go to kindle or ipad readers.

Lovely things from here and you can search by price www.theliterarygiftcompany.com/

CroissantNeuf · 24/11/2011 21:52

There are lots of gifts with Penguin Classics covers on

joanofarchitrave · 24/11/2011 21:53

A thumb thing is great - lots of places do them (including Amazon I think). Too cheap though.

Could be combined with this book stand?

Would an audio book count/be cheating?

Carrotsandcelery · 24/11/2011 21:55

MsRinky I was browsing through the Literary Gift Company earlier this evening but felt a bit overwhelmed. I wondered about the reading journal. I know I would like one but not everyone is as sad the same.

They do have loads of great stuff.

Something from here? www.theliterarygiftcompany.com/ Although speaking as a book lover, I'd still prefer an amazon voucher or booktoken to book related gifts that are not books.

MsWeatherwax · 24/11/2011 21:56

I forgot to convert links. www.theliterarygiftcompany.com/

On Amazon you can get a box of HB Penguin Classics pencils for £4.95, a variety of Penguin Classics mugs for under a tenner, or their notebooks or tea towels also for under £10.

On the Literary Gift company, they do have a secret santa section, if that's what you are looking for! I like the 'Go away, I'm reading' things.

WineOhWhy · 24/11/2011 22:03

You can get Penguin classic postcards
