Roller skates or roller blades for dd(8)????

Hi dd(8) has asked Santa for roller skates but he's baffled by the choice! Which are better/cooler/easier? She's quite well-coordinated and active, but did struggle to get the hang of her Lazytown skates!
Any help is hugely appreciatedSmile

indoors or outdoors?
What size foot?
Are the lazytown ones inlines or quads?
As a rule, Inlines are cheaper & fine for most purposes (especially outdoor stunts), quads are especially handy for games & more trendy among indoors skaters.
Adjustable size is good.
Budget?

I got roller skates for Christmas when I was 8! They were AMAZING. Red velvet with rainbow stripes on the side! (1980's). Best Christmas present ever. I know that's not at all helpful but just wanted to say skates are a great idea Grin.

As you were...

Ooh, had given up on answers! Thank you!

I'm guessing probably outdoor more, but maybe indoor a bit... I had suede rainbow ones too, with four wheels and then the stopper bit at the front! I loved them Smile Infact I still have them! Mum found them in the loft so I've brought them here.

I'm drawn to the 'old-fashioned' ones like I've got, but didn't want to fail miserably and get the wrong most uncool ones. I'm imagining spending £30-40 (think we'll buy them rather than let Santa have the glory, so they'll be her main present)

Problem with suede is weaker body than the modern plastic-frame ones.

Skate Asylum is a good (reliable, good customer service) online retailer. You can X-reference their products with reviews on Amazon.
Decathlon are good for buying stuff yourself, value for money, at least.

These aren't bad.

Just to update.
We bought dd these skates www.skateasylum.co.uk/acatalog/roller-derby-formula-pro-90-combo-girls.html and she absolutely loves them. They are rarely off her feet! Service was excellent, fast and well -packaged. Thanks lljkk.
