My family are on a health drive ATM so chocs/sweets are out - which is what I usually buy to half fill their stockings. So I'm now a bit stuck for ideas after socks, an orange and some smellies!

paperback book
DVD
magazine
hat, gloves and scarf
photo frame
nice coffee
itunes card
stationary/notebook
head phones (could be sensible or trendy or fun)
mug (could do a photo mug or a personalised one or a funny one)
head massager

Teens might appreciate some silly things like:
zombie jerky
Blood bath shower gel
joke toilet roll
oragami note pad

These links probably don't have the best prices on them, they are just meant to be for ideas!

these bath herb sets are pretty good value and apparently are very nice. ordering for stocking in our house use TreatOne as a code for an extra 25% off (works on everything) - they also have a similar one as a 'cure fro grumpiness' if you have a Scrooge to buy for Grin

Some flavoured coffee or herbal tea. Starbuck's card. Silly novelty stuff from Hawkins Bazaar

Do you have a TIGER store near you? They have lots of funky little things that are good for stockings.

Mine get a Christmas tree ornament personalised with their name and year.
This year they will also be getting a small photo book with all their school photos since nursery (youngest is is year 13).
Key rings are good eg found a Tardis keying for my Dr Who fan.
Snap on reflective bands for the cyclist
Even in late teens I find they like the mini packs of gel pens etc that wilkinsons, tesco, Rymans have in their party sections.

Playing cards
Skiping rope (for the health drive)
Nuts instead of chocolate
Gloves
Fitness DVD
Cadburys highlights (my favorite chocolate fix when I'm on a diet)

I usually get some silly stuff from Hawkins too.

This year I have got Fun Snaps, colour changing egg and key rings.

Last year I was a bit organized and I personalised egg cups for evryone with a photo of the person and a name. I had to get some special decal paper that would work in an inkjet printer to produce transfers that I put on the egg cup. Then I finished them off with a Kinder egg and a felt egg cosy.

Also this year I have got some indoor bulb kits, indoor sparklers and little recipe books

For teenage girls, Paperchase has masses of stuff for stocking fillers - keyring shaped like a guitar that plays Hey Jude / cute pens / notebooks / glittery Jesus money box / fairy lights etc etc.

My girls also love getting a Starbucks voucher (and i think Pret and various other places do them now too).

Post-it notes - everybody loves post-it notes right?

Book and book mark

Muji notebooks

Wind up racing grannies

Chutney / pickles / nice jams / posh marmite / marmite cashews / Japanese rice crackers / psih dried fruit / nice teabags

I stupidly suggested to dp that we do stockings, I'm watching with interest as I'm stuck

So far ive got
A bottle opener keyring
A funky bottle stopper
A bag of midget gems
A Christmas scratch card

Need more ideas!

Storm I usually get DH a couple of small size drinks, like a 'shots' bottle or a bottle of speciality beer - which fills it up quite well too Grin

And I like to get something a bit rude - think Ann Summers etc. Obviously that only works if you open your stockings without an audience Smile

storm Hawkins baazar have lots of stocking filler bits. I got DB top gear highway code book, some juggling boobs, a roland rat talking cup, only fools and horses air freshner for car and other bits....I loooove stocking shopping Grin

storminabuttercup · 25/11/2011 10:15

Fab ideas!

I thought about a small bottle of wine!

I'm sure a Hawkins bazaar has opened In town so may go for a look!

I'm reluctant to put rude things in though, he's likely to blab after too much champagne with lunch! Hmm

For DH I am doing:

-bottle of hot pepper sauce
-miniature of whisky
-paperback
-iPhone cover that looks like a mix tape
-2 of his favourite chocolate bars (not available where we live - someone is sending them)
-shower gel and moisturiser for the gym

  • a porcelain thermos cup
  • decaf Earl Grey tea

Nail varnish (there are great special effects ones on the Nails Inc website)
Nail files
Those £5 small recipe books (Good Food I think)
Travel mug
One of those fold away shopping bags to keep in your handbag
I've just posted about these on another forum but have just discovered Breo watches, they start at £10 and come in loads of styles and colours
A magazine

mrsmplus3 · 28/11/2011 20:58

oh come on! give the teens some sweets for christmas!
will you be cutting back on your gravy or wine that day?
ha ha, not really shouting at you. but if it was my son he would be raging at santa - that's the only time in the year he gets to eat rubbish all morning instead of a healthy breakfast.
he is almost 15. ill be putting lots of his favourite sweets and chocolates in his stocking for christmas as well as a dvd and a £20.

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 28/11/2011 21:39

farrowandballs · 28/11/2011 23:37
