At what age did you start making and/or giving presents?

I can't remember buying presents for family until I was well in to my teens, which feels really old. I had a Saturday job from 16 and I wasn't exactly wild and living it up at that age, so I must have had some money from that. But I really can't remember buying presents for at least my mum and dad. Maybe my grey cells are just rubbish...

Can you remember what age you started buying or making presents for family?

From a small child.
My mum believed (as do I) that it is important to teach children that Christmas is about giving too, not just receiving.

I remember going to the shops at about 7, and buying my mum a present - just a china model (could have been birthday though?) and my friend saying I shouldn't carry it because I used to fall over a lot so she would carry it for safe keeping. She accidentally smashed it on the way home.
