Christmassy lasagne - a meat one and a veggie one - anyone any ideas?

We are hoping to simplify Christmas dinner and have lasagne, salad and nice bread.

We thought it might help to make the occasion feel more festive if we could add a more Christmassy hint to the lasagnes. One will be a meat lasagne and the other a vegetarian one.

Has anyone got any ideas or tried and tested recipes for festive lasagnes?

Don't know about lasagne but a friend made me a turkey and cranberry quiche the other day and it was really really lovely, perhaps something similar with lasagne?

Don't worry-I found them, there was talk of a chocolate pavlova!

Oh my freaking God, Remus. That sounds absolutely amazeballs. Loooooove trifle.

Teaspoon of cinnamon quite nice in the mince while browning. Quite often put some in a lasagne or a moussaka. Even better with lamb mince.

I have a recipe for chicken and chestnut crumble that's really nice and I'm sure could be made with pre-roasted turkey if you're able to bung turkey in the oven the day before?

:)

Re: cheesecake. I'm a cheesecake purist generally and can't be doing with berries etc but I'm thinking that a cheesecake with ginger biscuits and stem ginger could be good.

tassisssss that definitely sounds of interest. Is there any chance of a link to it please?

We always have lasagne on Christmas Eve,a veggie mexicanny one with beans and sweetcorn.

If we are talking trifle, this waitrose one is fab and continues the Italian theme.

I love port and I love trifle. But which is best? Who cares, just shove them together in a big trifle! Wonderful.

Make the lasagne festive with colour only. Keep them traditional. So make an intensely red tomatoey sauce (one mincey, one not). I'd add spinach to the veg one. I love spinach and green is festive.

chicken and chestnut crumble

don't let the thought of cheese put you off, it's just in the crumble topping and can be skipped if you want.

I'd add some cranberry sauce to make it a bit more christmassy. You could always give it a go in advance and see if you like it?

Roast red pepper and mozarella lasagne is delish for a veggy one. I roast my own long peppers in oil and garlic in the oven rather than use ones in jars.
