Row of vines as present?

does anyone have any experience of french vineyards that sell a row of wine producing vines as a gift, I think you then case a case or 2 of wine at the end. It seems to be about £100.
Any good or bad experiences or specific recommendations much appreciated.

I bought a row for DH a couple of years ago, from 3G wines. He was thrilled and spent ages and ages choosing which vineyard he wanted his vines to come from. But then lost interest and never sent off for the bottles . We got the hard sell to continue for another 5 years etc, but apart from that it was great
