We normally only spend between £5-£10 on each other and I've spen that on the purse.

But it's bad luck to give an empty purse so what can I put in it that won't cost a lot?

Here in Scotland a purse has to be hansled(sp?) - just means putting a few coins in it.

Solo · 19/11/2011 11:48

Traditionally it's a penny.

oldraver · 19/11/2011 12:13

I would put one of each coin in, either up to 50p or £2 depending on which you would prefer

cjbartlett · 19/11/2011 12:17

Chocolate coins

Freakyfroggie · 19/11/2011 12:20

Lottery ticket

nickelbabe · 19/11/2011 12:23

a penny is tradition - she wouldn't expect more than that.
but I like the idea of a photo too. (too as in as well as a penny)

Love all of the suggestions! Flowers

Chocolate coins or special date coins - Fab idea!! Or a Christmas scratch card? Or a lottery ticket, do they do a draw Christmas day?

And I love the Costa coffee voucher idea as well. Can you get Starbucks ones?

Starbucks have chocolate coins for 50p, quite big too.

Save the Maccy D coffee stickers on the cup and pop a full card in.Grin

I think a pound would be fine , thats what I usually put in a new purse , or if shes a really good friend card shops do nice little cards with messages on them , bank card size maybe you could get her something like that ,
