Can anyone find a teddy like Teddington from Show Me Show Me?

My dd has decided that Father Christmas is bringing her Teddington Bear. I've searched ebay to try and find a teddy just like him but none are quite right. Think MIL could make a little green waistcoat but need his face to be as close to lovely Teddington as possible. Can anyone find the perfect ted?

I just googled Teddington and he looks like he could be a Steiff bear, possibly Elmar or maybe Fynn
They do a lot of different ones and several of them are very similar.

I hope your mum can manage the hat and jacket We've never seen that show here, my youngest has decided that Cbeebies is for babies now :( and won't let me watch any more.

Oh it is a lovely show. Teddington doesn't usually wear the hat and jacket, just a waistcoat and bow tie so hoping we can get away with dressing him in his usual attire rather than full "marching band" outfit!

I have one that's very similar it's from jellycat. It's almost 2 years old though so I don't know if they still do them?!

Ah, like this one Captain. It's very close, especially as it has the dark paws like Teddington which the others didn't. I was thinking dd would probably notice that...Hmmm, decisions decisions. The "real" Teddington is very big though. I reckon at least 40cm so maybe I will keep searching. There must be a perfect Teddington out there!

Yes I have looked at loads of pics on ebay and none had quite the right face. "Large jointed bear" gets loads with a good body but not a Teddington feel to the face. Maybe I am over thinking this. DD would probably not analyse it in this level of detail!

Harrods online have loads of bears. Christmas 2011 bear, 'Freddie' is reduced by a fiver to £19.99 and is close but you'd have to change his jumper for a waistcoat. 'Eric' bear is closer IMO but more pricy at £29.99 but does have a green military-style jacket (is the marching band outfit green or red - can't remember?).

Search tool in harrods webpage is very good. Just pop in bear names.

On closer inspection, the face of Freddie is closer than Eric to Teddington. I think I was being influenced by the green jacket when I said I preferred Eric.

Don't know about Freddie, but previous (2008) Harrods Christmas bear that I have is not jointed. I suspect this would be the same and not be jointed - especially at this price (same price as my 2008 bear).

QVC had jointed teddy bears on last week. They were Collectors Items so quite a bit more expensive (£40-80 for smallish to medium bear). They company was Charlie Bear (not the Cbeebies character) and they had quite a number of different Charlie Bears. Worth taking a look at QVC online perhaps or googling Charlie Bear. Hope this helps.

Harrods bears are not usually jointed and I do not think Freddie is but when he turns up I can let you know for sure!

MARCHING BAND COSTUME - I'm afraid I can't help with a Teddington look a like, but all my three year old wants for Xmas is the MARCHING BAND COSTUME with hat and flag. Any ideas where I can purchase as my sewing skills aren't too great. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
