Can you recommend a scooter?

DD (3yo) has asked for a scooter. I have got as far as browsing Argos but I have no idea what's good and what's not.

Perhaps all scooters are created equally. I dunno.

Any recommendations?

The micro scooters they sell in John Lewis are brilliant, although they cost about fifty quid.

Besom · 18/11/2011 08:34

This is what my dd 3.5 has and she loves it.

Honestly the mini micro ones mentioned above are worth the money if you can afford them.

KellyKettle · 18/11/2011 11:22

That looks fab, I'll go to John Lewis tomorrow & pick one up.

Thanks

Does anyone know if they sell them in store or do I have to order online?

I really want to buy one today for DD (its not actually for Christmas).

John Lewis definitely sell them in store, dunno where else.

Whorulestheroost · 19/11/2011 07:59

Yes they do sell them in store, I guess it depends on stock levels especially at this time of year. I would echo that they are fab. My two dc have the larger maxi scooters and even though they were £95 each they are worth every penny, my two scoot to and from school on them and even scoot around the house :)

Mini Micro scooters are great. Amazon are doing pre-order for delivery 8th of December for £40 which is a huge saving!

KellyKettle · 19/11/2011 19:47

Oh that would have been ideal but I need it for tomorrow.

We spent all day waiting in for DHs friend to arrive so I am dashing to John Lewis in the morning.

Where? How? I am desperate for one and would love to get it for £40 only. Link or advise please? Have never done it before.

SenoritaViva · 20/11/2011 09:51

mamapizza search for micro scooter on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk and then follow the prompts...

MamaPizza · 20/11/2011 09:52

All I get is that it is unavailable and there is nothing about pre-ordering. It's this one that I want.

AndiMac · 20/11/2011 09:55

They used to be £40 at John Lewis, but went up in price.

AndiMac · 20/11/2011 09:56

Sorry, just realised how useless that post was. Good luck getting it at £40 from Amazon, they are good little scooters.

MamaPizza · 20/11/2011 10:03

Ah, just found a jojomamanbebe discount code that works. It takes 15% off, so makes it £45. Not bad. Code: MTF12

DD loves her scooter! Thanks for the recommendation!

She hasn't stopped playing with it since we gave it to her this afternoon. Smile

Glad to hear she likes it. Can't wait for mine DSs to arrive. And then the looong wait till Christmas.

KellyKettle · 20/11/2011 19:33

She ate dinner with the scooter next to her chair and one hand on the scooter. We've never seen her like this over a toy. It's very sweet.
