Christmas truffles made with cream and chocolate-storage questions!

Hi all, I've just read a recipe in essentials for truffles for a Christmas present made out of double cream and chocolate but it doesn't say anything on how long they will store for how to store them. Worried if people don't put them in the fridge in the time between me giving them for Xmas and opening they might go yucky and give them food poisoning. Any ideas? Or any ideas of different ones I could make? Thanks everyone! X x x

I hate it when magazines don't give indications as to how to store foodstuffs, and how long they will last. My feeling on having read the recipe method, is they will need to be made a very short time before giving, and refrigeration, because the cream is only warmed, not boiled as in the fudge recipe.

I don't make sweets, so can't offer an alternative recipe. You could email the magazine, and ask if they can get the information you require.
