I've just found out - by accident, and now I'm fretting on what to get him.

Was only going to get him a new coat and few bits!

He only wears his wedding ring and wouldn't wear any other jewellrey.

ANY ideas much appreciated PLEASE!!

P.S - the ring better be for me!!

A nice watch?

MsWeatherwax · 17/11/2011 21:40

Ipad? Or other tablet? I wish someone would get me one, but they are expensive and I don't need one.

SparkleSoiree · 17/11/2011 21:43

Watching with interest as I am in the same boat Grin

mrsmplus3 · 17/11/2011 22:10

noyouhave - that was exactly what i was thinking!

an eternity ring? you lucky ladies bloody better treat your men if thats what you wake up to on xmas morning!

ill get the usual book, cd, bottle of wine and chocolates, but i love it.
all devoured one day over the christmas holidays while kids survive on chocolate and sweets.

I'm getting an eternity ring, he's getting an iPod nano! We chose what we wanted so no surprises but also both very happy!

Ja9 · 17/11/2011 22:29

ipad

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 18/11/2011 09:39

Thanks dwaynedibbly - I lost my wedding and engagement ring about 3 years ago and he refuses to buy another as "I obviously don't think much of them!" if I lost them. So this one will only be coming off if surgically removed! I've learnt my lesson!

Was thinking maybe an iphone, ipad but still unsure.

Will look at the conrad shop thanks.

If I can get him to take his ring off I'd have it engraved - but that might be mission impossible, we'll see.

Thanks for your replies x

I lost my wedding and engagement ring about 3 years ago and he refuses to buy another as "I obviously don't think much of them!" - this has made me so Sad. But I am ooozing weepy pregnancy hormones...

I also think an iPad. Or a lovely painting?

moonbells · 18/11/2011 12:41

Engraved pewter/silver something or other?

moaninlisa · 18/11/2011 19:43

Possibly a lot of bedroom activity over the next year

latrucha · 18/11/2011 20:25

A new coat is a very nice present. Maybe you let him completely upstage your present with the ring and feel great Grin Could that be the best present of all? Surely you want someone's jaw to drop on the floor if you're buyng them an extravagant gift, rather than to say, 'Oh, and here's the extravagant gift I bought you.'

thousandDenier · 18/11/2011 20:26

a voucher for a Prince Albert?

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 18/11/2011 22:34

well I thought that latrucha - don't really know what to do??

get a special gift as i know he i geting me one?

or act dumb and give the usual xmas gifts si his has more impact?

far too much married politicalness i feel... pleased i will be getting one though!! I do love him - ring or no ring.
moaninlisa - a year of b activity! I'm surprised we have 2 children!

Bless you loveinacoldclimate - good luck with your pregnancy x x

I got DH a watch (Omega) as an engagement present. I wouldn't give an i-pad/phone as they will be obsolete long before the ring is even scratched.

catwithflowers · 19/11/2011 07:38

socks

KingofHighVis · 19/11/2011 07:57

Surprised at all the suggestions for and Ipad. Is this the current symbol of everlasting love - With this Ipad I thee Wed. As pinkpanettone says, they will be obsolete and stashed in the loft in a few years.

I suggest a watch.

Anya Hindmarch bespoke here
You write a message and they emboss it for you. Not cheap but DH's wallet is a work of art!

Awww boysboysboys I lost my wedding ring too. The annoying thing was, it was in our bedroom at our last house, and it never ever turned up, even when we moved and emptied it totally.

DH bought me an eternity ring a few years ago but he took me shopping to pick one (I was very fussy, knew exactly what I wanted and he was gobsmacked at the stream of "identical" ones I knocked back!)

I think I got him a Stone Island coat that year, but I knew how much he was spending. You cant try to match him money wise, if its a surprise, you need to find something nice and meaningful instead on your usual budget.
