First weekend of December. We've had a fake one for the last four years because of young DC but we're going back to a real one this year, can't wait :)

We will go and get it with the kids, and all decorate it together. Then I will go round rearranging it all when they've gone to bed Grin

Fake. No earlier than 14th Dec. DS loves doing it. I then try to spread the decorations out a bit moe evenly. He spots this the next morning & puts them back.

so that will be sat the 3rd. thought of that but would a real tree then last til say 3rd of Jan?

1st dec, fake and done whilst kids are in bed.

MegBusset · 16/11/2011 22:04

£50 seems a lot for a real one? It's been a few years but I'm sure we've never paid more than £20-ish for a reasonable-sized one.

mrsmplus3 · 16/11/2011 22:06

hahaha supa.

i did a real one once and it was my favourite. but that was when we only had 1 kid and could afford to bin £50 after a few weeks. we now have 3 who all want certain things from santa. add that to the 10 people im feeding on the big day - were talking alot of money getting spent here, there and everywhere.
hmmm again.

A max of about a week before Christmas - wish I had the patience to wait until Christmas Eve but can't do it. Real. I wouldn't ever bother putting a fake one up.

mrsmplus3 · 16/11/2011 22:07

oh really meg? maybe im going to the wrong places. it was a garden centre i was looking at. where are the £20 ones?

Real, about 4 or 5 days before.

sweetheart · 16/11/2011 22:10

we usually put ours up on the nearest weekend after 8th Dec which is dc's birthday. We have a real tree - I'd take some serious convincing to have a fake one as I just don't think you can beat the smell of a real tree!

smartyparts · 16/11/2011 22:10

Kids have one in playroom for all their tat homemade decorations.

NotnOtter · 16/11/2011 22:11

real - normally 20th / 21st ish

mrsmplus3 · 16/11/2011 22:13

oh god some of you are good - i could never wait til a week before, the excitement and anticipation would kill us all!!

sat 10th it might just be....
