I always intend to but end up not bothering. I was contemplating buying some tissue paper this year so I can do a half arsed job of it

Always wrap. Makes more of a surprise.

Jojay · 14/11/2011 21:47

I did when I had one child.

Now I have 4, I don't Grin

lilolilmanchester · 14/11/2011 21:48

Also always wrap - part of the magic for DCs is in the unwrapping

Carrotsandcelery · 14/11/2011 21:48

I do, but in different paper from the stuff I use for family and friends. It is half the fun I think, poking and prodding and shaking. I don't wrap sweets or fruit though. Grin

SazZandASparkler · 14/11/2011 21:49

Oh yes. No question!

RightUpMyRue · 14/11/2011 21:50

No, Santa has no patience time for wrapping.

fifitrixibell · 14/11/2011 21:50

I used to, but now I have 3 kids and 0 energy I don't bother. It's also more environmentally friendly of course Wink.

My other problem is that I always seem to end up wrapping everything late on Christmas eve so just don't have time either.

sillymillyb · 14/11/2011 21:51

I part wrap and part shove things in.... Indecisive me Grin

Tillyscoutsmum · 14/11/2011 21:51

I know I ought to wrap them but there's just so much tat stuff (and I hate wrapping). This is probably the first year my eldest will remember so if I do it this year, I'll need to do it every year

Last years paper is used up with xmas stockings however as the children wise up to this am going to have to come up with a different strategy!

stealthsquiggle · 14/11/2011 21:52

yes - FC wraps in cheap paper in a very slapdash carefree way, completely unlike my control freak careful wrapping. I think it helps to prolong the fun of stocking-opening a bit.

MirandaGoshawk · 14/11/2011 21:54

Some things, yes, but not bags of sweets etc. or we would be there unwrapping all day - dch unwrap their stockings on our bed and after a while I start getting twitchy about getting up & putting the turkey on.

Tigresswoods · 14/11/2011 21:55

No!!!! Grin

Wolfiefan · 14/11/2011 21:55

Yes!Yes!Yes! Father Christmas always used to leave stockings on our beds as kids so when we woke up we had something to keep us happy (from 5-7 am) wrapping pressies makes this last longer and means parents get more sleep!

TeaOneSugar · 14/11/2011 21:58

Yes, and it has to be different wrapping paper, because santa wrapped it :)

smileitssunny · 14/11/2011 21:59

yes - but then I LOVE wrapping! it's all recycled paper from previous years, that should make it more eco friendly...

2kidsintow · 14/11/2011 21:59

Wrapped stocking presents don't earn me any extra sleep as my 2 DDs annoyingly kindly bring their stockings through to share the unwrapping with my DH and I.

We still wrap though as a lazy wake up as they make a right mess in my bedroom while unwrapping slowly is still preferable to them just tipping the whole lot out and seeing it all in one go.

Mind you, my two love their sleep and last year my DD2, 7, woke early, noticed that FC had been then went back to sleep til nearly 9 anyway. Love my kids!

leftmydignityatthedoor · 14/11/2011 22:00

Yes, wrap presents but not toothbrushes / sweets etc. So this year ds has a plasticine tub, scooby doo goo, playmobil figures etc wrapped but other stuff isn't.

madmomma · 14/11/2011 22:03

yes, but it makes me want to gouge out my eyes.

leftmydignityatthedoor · 14/11/2011 22:04

Oh and it HAS to be different paper from everything else and the rest of the roll has to be hidden.

ASuitableGirl · 14/11/2011 22:07

Of course. Makes it all the more fun :)

Dee03 · 14/11/2011 22:17

Yes wrap all stocking stuff except sweets! Smile

Jacaqueen · 14/11/2011 23:01

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!

The stocking is the wrapping.

The other presents from Father Christmas are wrapped but not the stocking presents.

trixymalixy · 14/11/2011 23:04

Yea, makes it more fun. I also don't wrap fruit or chocolate coins.

RustyBear · 14/11/2011 23:09

I used to use tissue paper (with a different colour for DS and DD) -it's easier to wrap quickly and can be 'scrunched' around the presents so you don't need Sellotape. Though it does tend to rustle a bit when you're trying to creep quietly into the bedroom, so maybe better for those whose tradition is to have the stockings left downstairs.
