So far I thought I'd get -

A cutlery set of some sort
Home-made sock-puppet
New toothbrush
Satsuma (obligatory in my family)
A bath toy that isn't a duck!

Any inspired ideas for a few more little gifts? What are you planning on giving your 1-2 year olds in their stockings?

I don't think I did stockings until they were over 3 and more aware of the whole thing. But then I'm a big Xmas meanie.

Little musical instruments (shakers, bells etc)? Can get them cheap on ebay. Bubble bath? Happyland figures and wrap them individually? Could be 2nd hand too. Stickers?

JennyPiccolo · 14/11/2011 17:42

ooh, i like the wee shakers and bells, cute.

depending on budget, we went for the big bag of plastic fruit and veg wrapped up separately lots of parcels to open but not expensive!

Great ideas, thank you! Definitely going for the plastic fruit and veg idea - brilliant! He already loves his cuddly leek....

We have some small instruments, a chocolate polar bear (she'll be 18 months and I'm still having difficulty with the idea of giving her chocolate!), and a couple of books. I'm going to try and get a little red clip for her hair (her first!) for on the day so that'll go in too. And DH got her a little Peppa Pig hot chocolate set - a plastic mug, some chocolate buttons and marshmallows. Totally age inappropriate (she's really not great with open cups, it'll be a mess!) but I'm loving the fact that he's finally noticing Christmas : )

i wouldn't bother if it weren't for the older 2 having them

i'd feel mean them having a stocking and baby ds not

but dd1 didn't have one until she was 3, IIRC
