Surely it wouldn't kill my DH to let me know of SOMETHING that he'd like and then wait til Christmas for it. It isn't that long a wait.

So far this week he's bought himself two train sets for his model rail setup in the loft. Either of them would've made a great Christmas present, but no....he can't possibly wait.

He's mentioned the expensive mindstorm lego in passing a couple of weeks ago so I'm keeping an eye on it with a view to getting it for him as a surprise. I never buy him things that are particularly expensive but he got me my kindle last year and as it is something he's mentioned actually liking, I wouldn't mind on this occasion. ,
But if I ask him if he wants it, he'll say not to spend so much money on him. If I just buy it I'd have to tell him so he didn't get it for himself and spoil the surprise.

And this from the fella that went mental years ago just before my birthday when I'd bought myself a DVD that he'd bought for me without me knowing.

Can you ban him from buying things before Christmas? My DP is on a ban because of similar behaviour Grin. I don't think they realise how hard it can be picking presents! Would your DH like a trip to a collectors fair/convention for Christmas perhaps?

Mine is on a ban too. I think Oreo has a great idea - tickets aren't something he will be likely to buy himself. I always get my DP tickets to something too in case he breaks the ban again.
