A challenge for you - christmas present for my brother

Here's a challenge for those of you who like challenges. I have a budget of £15 or under (sorry if that seems mean - we are broke) for a present for my brother who is 35.

He doesn't really drink or cook or garden and isn't very blokeish in terms of sport. He likes books but hard to know what he's got and a book token would show how much money we's spent.

Presents that went down well in past were iTunes voucher but we were flusher then and old sweets from a quarter of.

He's due to be a dad in the new year if that helps.

I get my siblings to update or make Amazon wishlists and then choose a couple of things off them because then I don't have to try and guess what they'd like.

I don't see what's wrong with him knowing what you've spent tbh. a £15 book voucher or iTunes card is a nice thing to get.

get him the haynes manual to babies, a good one for new dads.

The Haynes manual sounds like a fab idea. Grin

Would something like this appeal or is he not that kind of guy?

Could you get him a book light so he can read without waking baby?

RecursiveMoon · 13/11/2011 14:39

Someone on another thread was talking about a 'New Dad survival kit", I reckon you could make a pretty good one for your £15 - nice coffee, Dad mug, cookery book so that he can cook for his DP etc?

I love the dazzle print but don't think he will. Will look up Haynes. Thank you

I recommnd every parent of a newborn to have travel mug. It's the only way to ever have a hot beverage.

a man tin?

I have bought this for BIL.

If you are going down the journal road why not get him a book light and one of these to keep track of what he has read. (You could also have sneaky peaks so you know what book he wants next year!)

My first thought was the Haynes manual too. We have it and its very funny (plus informative!) Grin
