So I've been asked to do a Christmas cake/treat stall at a fair

What would you buy? It is a local village Christmas market about 700-1000 people through in the evening.

I am taking:

a number of 6inch fruit Christmas cakes,
a sponge Christmas Tree cake here is my test one, either chocolate or vanilla sponge,
christmas cupcakes - fancy iced standard flavours, some Christmassy flavours e.g. baileys and chocolate and mincemeat with brandy buttercream.
Some packs of homemade florentines
Chocolate dipped marshmallows for dipping hot chocolate
Homemade mince pies.

Any other suggestions of things you might like?

I was contemplating some cookie/muffin mix jars with instructions on the side?

Gingerbread ?? Everyone loves gingerbread!!

That cake is looks bloody amazing!!

What about nigella xmas morning muffin mix in the jars?
THink it can mostly be done in advance iirc

chocolate truffles in little bags, baskets, cups?

My dmum always does individual and small (2 - 3) person Christmas puddings for these things. Will there be elderly people there? There are lots of the more mature generation at the events she bakes for and they would like Christmas pudding but can't justify making a whole one just for them and their daughter, say, or whoever they might spend Christmas with.

Little bags of homemade fudge and tablet usually go down well too.

I would suggest something Non chocolate as not everyone can eat it me and I some people don't like mince pies.
What about some shortbread?

White chocolate and cranberry rocky road rolled in dessicated coconut for a snowy look.

Yule log? Theres a nice coffee and walnut recipe in Women and Home Magazine.

How about some Lebukuchen ? The spicy, soft gingeriness is lovely and a bit of an antidote to the sweet stuff,

Mugs with some little bags of drinking chocolate, choc dipped marshmallows, choc shavings and a choc dipped spoon

Mulled wine syrup (infused syrup with spices and citrus to add to wine)

Melted Snowman Cookies

There was a great recipe posted on a thread last Year for kruidnoten, which are gorgeous little Dutch spicy gingerbread balls, you could make up little cellophane bags with a handful of biscuits. Monster - non chocolatey things are now on the list!

Carrots - I have a number of little puds already made but I might shock some little old lady if they are not expecting the booze kick! I might have to make a few more.

Make chocolate rice crispie cakes and shape them into little Christmas pudding domes; melt White chocolate onto the top and marzipan green holly leaves so mini Christmas puddings?

Pumpkin you might make her year! I know several little old ladies who enjoy a massive little night cap

My tale of woe...
Small village , in the community hall , spent all day Friday at home , baking , stressing . Cupcakes made , Yule log , large Christmas cake to be sold in large slices , cranberry and White chocolate cookies , loads of stuff, all lovely .
Overnight it snowed and froze really hard ... And about 4 people turned up.
We were stocked up nicely at home !

Christmas pudding cake pops? I made these last year using chocolate flavoured balls on them, I suppose you could use fruit cake but not sure what to bind it with.

What about jars of hot chocolate mix? You could layer powder, marshmallows, chocolate curls and put little tags like just add hot milk and how many cups it will make.

Peppermint bark all broken up and in little cellophane bags tied with ribbon, can also do brownie squares, flapjack squares, coconut ice, fudge, truffles etc.

Chocolate covered pretzels. It's easier buying pretzel sticks (theres a Polish brand they sell in Tesco, huge bags, very cheap) dip in melted chocolate leaving part uncovered. Sprinkle with red/green/white hundreds and thousands. Also look really cute in cellophane bags.

are you going to be taking orders on the day in case you do really well and people want to advance order. I appreciate probably too later for fruit christmas cake but other cakes could presumably be made to order?

MOS - yes I am taking orders for cakes, I have a stock of fruit cakes wrapped up but not going to decorate/take them all with for the night, so people will be able to order for closer to Christmas. All other cakes/traybakes will be able to be ordered.

As for the hot choc mix, I might give it a go in smaller quanities so I don't get left with lots to deal with at the end of the night.
