Ah thank you. They sound quite similar! We brought DS the remote control tarantula last Christmas and he still plays with it! Thought he would be bored after a day. He also asked for a metal detector but like you saw the reviews were rubish.

Which rc car are you going for? Think he would like one after the tarantula success!

apparently its the 1:32 full function subaru. WHich means not a jot to me. I like the look of the prehistoric pet creature, especially as ds is no3, and hates others going in his room.

My nephew is nine, we are getting him a remote control small flying helicopter, Amazon have loads on there.
He is also footy mad so we are buying an Arsenal backpack from sports direct and filling it with arseal goodies like a money tin, poster for his bedroom etc.

Girl, but dd's no. 1 best 9th birthday present was a small but proper swiss army knife.
