Manchester Christmas Market

I'm thinking of going up to Manchester for the Christmas market, and am after some opinions. Is it worth it? Is there lots of choice? Is it very romantic (thinking of taking my boyfriend)?

I've never actually been to a Christmas market so I've no clue what they're like really. Any advice greatly appreciated!

Yes i would say it is worth it. They have a lot of different stalls , i guess choice comes down to what you are looking to buy. The variety of stalls is good. I tend to go more for the atmosphere and the food and drink. If you are looking for romantic i would suggest going when it gets dark as it is much more festive when all the lights are twinkling.
If you have never been to a Christmas market i would definitely recommend it they are lovely.

Yes it's worth it. And there are lots of bars/restaurants in nearby Spinningfields. It gets very, very busy so not what I'd call romantic though.

It's lovely I am going to go during the week this year in the hope it's quieter!

it does get horrendously busy; I could barely move through the crowd last time!

they have nice food and drink stalls and lots of crafty gift stalls, jewellery and wooden toys.

It's brilliant, we take two trips down every year, one with friends to sample the various mulled wines and food and one with DS and MIL to look at all the christmassy stuff. It does get very busy though but as long as you are prepared for it you'll enjoy it. Grin

It can be busy, we usually go on a Sunday and have a mulled wine and german sausage, yum! But I am only a 10 min train ride away so not so bad. It is a nice atmosphere often though and lots of stalls. Oh and a chocolate covered banana too...........mmmm can't wait now Grin
